What is the reason for the TV show; the Pacific's needless and mis-guided historic senarios?

Recently, a show started; "the Pacific". Personally, I think it is one of the best TV show productions after Lost and How I Met Your Mother. However, -unfortunately- while watching this production in which we especially see the meaningless battles in the World War II (it seemed a little bit so to me), it came with some absurd and incorrect comments in the senario. In the third episode of this show, in Australia, a Greek woman specifies that she came from the old country (Greece); Smyrna (of which real name is Izmir). Then, the US soldier says "that was sacked by the turks, wasn't it?" and she answers "the turks invaded in 1922 and burned it down. All gone." What I mean is at least may the producers be honest, if the writers cant! And with this mood of having one nation as a favour and other one as against, why the writers need to create new discussions between Greeks and Turks?

For who dont know in 1922; it is the year when Turkish people has won their independency war against the The Entente Powers, building a republic, laic, and independant country instead of the reactionists' theocratic empire which turned into a German colony in its last years. The last centuries' hero; Ataturk has took Izmir back as it was already belonging to Turks for almost five centuries! So why should Turks need to sack Izmir? And for who dont know Ataturk; he is the founder of Turkish Republic and owner of this saying "Peace at home, peace at world."

Please, do not misunderstand me and I have no specific targets for any nation; I am only a supporter of peace..

Update:

Hayk;

Please do not be offended. I am no supporter of this religionist government and I am against the fascism in everywhere.

Also, I accept that there has been some events in which Armenians were killed by Turks; I dont deny that.

However, I am just too surprised to see all these fake senarios which are being accepted by some governments in which Armenian lobbies are very powerful. For this genocide claims; these events were mutual, and as you know, Armenians were not so innocent as you try to show. As many as Armenian people were killed by Turks, Turkish people were killed by Armenian gangs at that time; and you can visit many museums in East Anatolia remaining from who Armenians killed. As the Ottoman Empire was in a war and the Ottoman government was not able to save itself in many battles; as the Armenian gangs increased day by day joining the Russian army; how can you claim that was a genocide?

Update 2:

Also, you said "Turks just migrated to that land and living with Armenians for a couple of hundred years, they managed to get rid of the Armenians from that land by committing the first genocide of the 20th century."

I passed the subject of Armenians gangs' actions. It has been nearly one hundred years since the events that you claim. Until this time, claims were always rejected in many courts and international contracts including the United Nations'.

If we are going in a way that who slaughtered who; Chinese people slaughtered Turks; Greek people slaughtered Romans; Europeans slaughtered Indians, French people slaughtered Algerians, and so many on. Even these events cannot be compared in 1915 cos it was a mutual war between Turks and Armenians.

In today's world, the fascism in Turkiye is no more than the fascism in Armenia.

I wish Armenian lobbies would spend their money for poor people in Armenia; who mostly come to Turkey and look for a job!

    Maybe some lobbyists paid them heaps of money to help the production of the show? A lot of people don't care about the truth or how their fraud might brainwash the immature as long as they secure the money.

    Source(s): World events (i.e. waste of time and effort spent by Armenian lobbyists all around the world to spread a grandiosely tweaked history)

    I support for the peace too, but the reality remains reality. The entire world wants to teach the Turkish government and Turks to stand up for the truth and recognize all the atrocities that they have made in the last century. First of all, Armenians have lived on that land for thousands of years, and not Turks....Turks just migrated to that land and living with Armenians for a couple of hundred years, they managed to get rid of the Armenians from that land by committing the first genocide of the 20th century. The entire world recognizes the fact that Turks committed a genocide towards Armenians from 1915-1923, got rid of the Armenians, killed 1.5 million Armenians, then established a Turkish state. Before then it was the Ottoman Empire, NOT TURKEY!!!!! They have also killed Greeks and Assyrians... If we do not recognize these atrocities, then it will repeat itself every century. So I think that's what the show tries to do; recognize the correct history and make sure that brutal acts by Turks will be not be repeated again. I have several Turkish friends and I love them; i'm not saying that all Turks are like that, but what the reality is that Turks have committed atrocities towards Armenians, Greeks and Assyrians (I'm not going to continue the list, because they have done the same thing to others too... you know it very well). Instead of other countries pushing turkey, Turkey till this day does not recognize the Armenian Genocide... WHAT A SHAME!!!! So as long as Turkey does not recognize the genocide, other countries will push it and will come up with movies, shows and books about the Turkish brutalities.
