when I think about the adjectives you used I alway think either Athena or Isidore.

Athena is the goddess of Wisdom and War

and Isidore always just seemed like a strong name.

for a boy I would think something along the lines of Elliot. It is a little common, but I think it sums all of your description up nicely.
