Question about making a Ceveche?

I've made a ceveche with shrimp before, and the shrimp cooks really fast, I know. I want to make one with scallops and cilantro tonight, but I'm sure that the scallops will take a little longer, even thinly sliced. Does anyone know what the minimum -maximum would be to marinade them to cook? Thanks!

You can keep bay scallops whole because they are small but for sea scallops I would definitely cut them in thin slices or dice them in small peices. It is always best to marinate for 2-4 hours.
