What is a rough estimate of the price of a junkyard engine? 84-89 nissan vg30et?
How much do you think i could get one for from a salvage yard? I want it as a project to build up. I'm looking for a VG30ET out of an '84-'89 Nissan 300zx (Z31).
Thanks.

Depends on if you expect it to come with the manifold/turbo etc.
All vg's are basically identical other wise. Cept non-turbos have a lil higher compression, and no knock sensor. To the point alot of people find vg33's from trucks and use them as well in their Z.
*like me*
Id say 300-500 max. Salvage Price just the block, with the turbo and stuff may go up a little.
That being said, I would recommend looking on craigslist for 300zx price <500 and i bet you will find a whole car. Sell the spares/windows, transmission, misc. and you can have a free VG.
