As for the question, sorry I had to get that off my chest, she gets me so angry sometimes, I have been celibate for 20 years, since my divorce and you know what I was called a mental person and also a pedophile because of that, how sick is that?

They think that because of there own impure sexual actions and thoughts. Some people just don 't get it and i think they do not want to get it. Susanna why didn't your sister give you the rest of the facts in that women think of sex almost as often as men. The ignorance about human nature is really getting bad in this country now. I'm afraid our educational situation is only getting worse. But then again a lazy body has a lazy mind and there ignorance only proves it as it is not that hard to learn the facts of Pedophilia on the internet.

You are right that celibacy has no relation to sexual deviancy. It is a rejection of sexual relations in favor of sacrificial service to the kingdom of God. Our Lord was himself a celibate, and he recommended celibacy to his disciples (Matthew 19:12): "For some are eunuchs because they were born that way; others were made that way by men; and others have renounced marriage because of the kingdom of heaven. The one who can accept this should accept it."

It's because they live in a fantasy world where they think marriage is a cure for pedophilia, when it's a fact that married men and women can be pedophiles just as easily as a single person.

These priests are called to the priesthood. who's calls them? God almighty, that's who. Does the man enter the priesthood knowing he won't have sex? Of course he knows. The fact is, which non catholics may not comprehend, but if God calls them to the priesthood and celibacy God also gives them the grace or char ism to remain celibate. God isn't going to call men or women to celibacy and then not equip them to remain in that state. God is not an idiot.

Our bodies are made for love, how true that is. Sex is not love, it is only an expression of it, for the married. We are all called to love. Who are we called to love? Whatdoes the bible say? you shall love the Lord thy God with all thy heart with all thy strength and with all thy soul. To be filled with love is not a prescription for sex.

Everyone has there eyes peeled on the catholic church for the sex scandals going on. But do they really care about the abuse of children, because if they do then why do they not see it in the schools, see it in the protestant denominations, see it in the homes, why don't they see it in the boy scout troops, and in the many other places where this sick behavior goes on? Could it be because the catholic church is a treasure house that those lawyers and people covet the gold to be gotten? Love of money is the root of all evil, and I think that's all it is. There are many teachers and doctors and lawyers who live double lives, and go home to abuse and hurt their children.

celibacy and pedophilia are not connected. celibacy is a choice not a burden, but when we live in a sexually promiscuous society naturally they will think no one is able to live without it. That's nothing but happy horse ----!

Because they don't think through their statement. And yes, we have seen it here said many times, "...well it's because their priests aren't allowed to get married." etc etc.

By their logic, being married would stop a pedophile from commiting his crime. That would mean that no married man would ever commit pedophilia. We both know that's wrong.

Blaming celibacy is such a lazy conclusion. And I bet you'll have people telling you that no one thinks this way--WRONG. This is such a common opinion! "If we would just let them marry and have sex they wouldn't molest children!". I almost feel bad for people with such a poor grasp on this issue.

Because they can not control their sexual nature and figure if they cant do it no one can.

They do not care to research the fact that it is more prevalent in the Protestant and secular areas by married men than in the Catholic Church by celibate Priests.

Because priests have no adult connection with the outside world. I bet if a study was done then the cases of pedophilia would drop if Priests were allowed to marry the same sex.

Our bodies are designed to want sex. Subconsciously you are judging and deciding who is your perfect mate to have sex with, subconsciously of course. The more you suppress people from sex the more they will want/become freaky ;)
