Single parent you can't join the service. Not sure but heard rumors even the guard and reserve aren't going to be taking single parents.

When I joined I was told that if I had a child I had to be married. Now there is a waiver for everything but they normally do not like single parents joining because there comes the time where you will get deployed and you need someone to take care of your child. Your boy friend will not be allowed to live wiht you on base housing either, you would need to be married for that as well. You need to talk with a recruter and see if they have changed that rule but that was only 8yrs ago so I dont think it has changed. Good luck.

Best living conditions and training of the military branches. Most freedom when you're not on shift, you can go anywhere off base until you have to be back at work. In 4 years, I was at 10 bases over half the world, 3 of the bases I volunteered for.

Pros:
You can do PT on a bicycle.
Not very physically demanding.
90% of job skills in the Air Force can be transferred into the civillian world.
Bills are paid.
Always have a paycheck and medical.
Money For College.
There's a lot of pros
Cons:
They wont allow single mothers (unless they changed)
Chance of being deployed (Lowest compared to any other branch)
Possible field training (A week/month from home at a time depending on MOS)
I'd say go with it.
