Anybody see the Colby Armstrong elbow to perreault?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ki_IkCT74QI

elbow to the head no call on the ice, what your take?

I dont think that angle does it justice, the one i saw at the game look a lot worse.

Update:

Im sorry pearreault is my favorite prospect and if somebody does this to him it pisses me off, the angle they showed in game was ice level and it looked like a clear elbow to me. That is a penalty sure hockey is rough but you cant do that.

I grew up in a very small town and High School was were all the activity was except for getting drunk and making out. I even did some of that at school. LOL It's hard to believe I survived High School and I was an "A" Student. School is were Girls were and were I played Football so I had a blast. It didn't hurt that by the time I started High school my Dad had quit drinking (He was one of the worst alcoholics I have ever seen) . Mom was still a pain but Dad and I became best friends, So I guess my view of my High school years is a little biased. The School Dances were big events in a small town that had one movie theater with just one screen, no fast food restaurants and no malls. We didn't get Rock Concerts coming within 150 miles so I didn't see my first Live Concert until I went away to college unless you count local bands playing at the Dances.

-It's hard to argue that Armstrong isn't aiming for the head; Perrault is trying to duck to get out of the way, and we don't have Zdeno Chara situation of someone being 6-12" taller than the other guy.

    -Led with a forearm.

-It was not from behind or into the boards...open ice hit...this would lean in Armstrong's favour.

I suppose Armstrong's record would be a mitigating factor.

Looks more like a forearm to me, than an elbow. Perreault kind of makes it look worse than it actually is, what might have hurt him more was falling to the ice, than Armstrongs arm.

I agree with some others.....seemed like it was more of a forearm hit....the arm is EXTENDED, for it to really be an elbow (in the vicious sense at least), the forearm has to be bent in to form that hard blunt weapon.

Just take your arm-now hold it straight out and tap on your elbow.....just an extension of the arm really. Now bend your forearm in and tap your elbow-ahhh, now you see the difference.

Crackdown on headshots rule might apply...he might geta game IF Perreault was hurt (was he?) and it could be two if Armstron is a repeat offender.

TOM- Christ man...the new rule applies to headshots that were in the past LEGAL.....SHOULDERS to the head (from the blindside).........what does the new rule have to do with an elbow to the head? (again....I think "forearm" is more applicable here). Do you honestly think you can now elbow someone in the head if it is a head on collision? LOL

I saw a swinging motion of Armstrong, so I would give him the penalty. I don't know other angles though. It could have been a hard hit and armstrong just threw his arm up there to keep himself balanced.

Firstly, another non-call, the officiating is horrible

Secondly, he got a 2 minute minor for roughing after the play.

Thirdly, he was hit in face a bit before this happenned (and was cut pretty bad, his face was all bloody)... Not excusing what he did though

Further proof that the NHL's rule change will actually CHANGE absolutely nothing this season. A rule is only good if it is well-enforced. And seeing as the NHL refs suck well...

Seems Armstrong is gaining a reputation for this stuff.

Because it was a head on hit it isn't part of the new rule. So whether the NHL intends to impose Supplemental discipline is based on intent. My guess is that it will be judged a missed call and no further discipline will be involved.

Tough play, don't think Armstrong was trying to injure anybody though
