First of all, all straighteners will make your hair "flat". It just depends on how you use them. To give it some volume, you can tease the top of your hair a bit, using a teasing brush/comb, or just a regular comb. Hold the hair and comb backwards. This forces some of the hair to go under the rest of the hair, and greats a poof. Just smooth it out a bit, and do this to the rest of your hair. I find it better also to tease the body of your hair too, and not just the roots.
You can also use a bunch of different products:
Thickening Cream- Makes your hair look thicker, so it's not so boring and limp. I use BedHead SmallTalk.
Volumizing Gels/Sprays/Leave in conditioner- These will also give your hair some volume. I use Aussie Aussome Volume Spray Gel.
Mousse- Most people use this on wet hair, but after I straighten my hair, I massage some mousse into the body and roots of my hair. I use Herbal Essences Tousle Me Softly Mousse.
Also, for more volume try blow drying your hair upside down.
I think you should just stick with the straightener you have, because yes, it is possible to keep your hair soft. Deep Condition your hair once a week, and get trims frequently to destroy split ends. Also, when you straighten your hair, if you have thin hair, you can go faster because your hair doesn't need as much heat. Here are some more products you can use if you'd like to:
Split-End Protector- The name says it all. It protects your hair from split ends, and prevents them from getting worse. I use Herbal Essences Split-End Protector. It works well, plus it smells amazing!
Heat Protectant- This is a must for every time you use any hot tool. Heat protectant protects your hair from so much damage, and keeps it looking shiny and healthy. I recommend Tresemme Heat Tamer Spray.
Shine Serum- There are plenty of kinds of things like this; you can even use argon oil. It basically tames frizz, and makes your hair shiny, but not greasy or dirty looking. Try Chi Silk Infusion.
Hope this helped ;)

it became super flat because you prob straightened it everyday over and over with intense heat-that kills yoru hair idc how expensive you flat iron was. you need to lay off the flat iron and use a volumizing and /or conditioning creme to add body to your damaged tresses. use a paddle brush and hair dryer to straighten your hair for less damage and more body too

Its now not Extremely dangerous in your hair so long as you situation, consume plenty of protein, and use warmth protectant spray. If you dont deal with your hair good sufficient, it's going to ultimately end up very brittle and wont develop rapidly in any respect. If your hair isnt greasy, i advocate you wash your hair each and every different day, conditioning whenever OR deep situation it ATLEAST two instances each and every 7-10 days

you could add a root lifter to your hair

add a little bit of hairspray
use heat protectant on your hair before straightening it
