What is the big deal with the BNP?

Does freedom of expression not say that, as British Citizens, they are free have their opinions, regardless of what those opinions are?

Why is it that extremists are allowed to publicly say bad things about Britain, but british people aren't allowed to say bad things about others?

Let's face it people, the BNP don't physically hurt anyone (unlike extremists) and they're too small to win a Parliamentary election.

If you don't agree with their views, what's wrong with simply not voting for them: a power granted to you as a citizen of a democracy?

I don't agree with several of their policies, but I let them get on with it because they have that basic human right to express their opinions, and I have the basic human right to think they're wrong.

Or is this country so caught up in the Spiral of Political Correctness and protesting that they can only have opinions that match specific PC criteria?

Update:

For the record, I do nott support the BNP.

I just can't understand why people are so desperate to see them disbanded when all they're doing is expressing their opinions, which are allowed to be politically incorrect...

i despise them totally, however you are right this supposed to a country of freedom of speech, and i just read that Nick Griffin is to be stripped of his 2.2 from a university, now that is just plain stupid, i mean do they do the same to the dolts who spout off about their particular religion i.e followers of Islam, i very much doubt it, they can't just pick and choose. Either we are a democracy or we are

    not.

  • If you're not allowed to insight racial hatred then why was Abu Hamza allowed to sing kill whitey in the middle of the street and Jack Straw allowed to say "the English as a race aren't worth saving". The BNP do not insight racial hatred wanting to kick out illegal immigrants and criminals is not hatred.

Why do we only ever see the "anti-fascists" attacking people with eggs and hammers, smashing people's windows and vandalising cars, that's the thing with those protentious self-important **** they think they're always in the right therefore justified in doing what they want and democracy doesn't apply to them.

People just don't like them or think others have the right to free speech, all these human rights type people should stop and listen to their own words, they make no sense when they say they're anti-fascists but would gladly deny others free speech.

Yes we are free to express our opinions but the law also says that we cannot incite racial hatred.

I've spoken to quite a few of BNP members and you will not believe how racist they are, I was so surprised by their ignorance and their deep hatred of anybody that is not British. Many were also anti Semitic, and insulted Islam and Christianity.

You say it's not a big deal, it is. Everybody needs to be educated, you can't criticise religions and cultures without knowing anything about them, which his exactly what the BNP does.

Immigration is not the root of all problems in this country yet the BNP claim it is. Impressionable people will be influenced by the BNP and may make the mistake of voting for them.

The right to free speech does not allow you to harm others with that free speech.

The BNP's aims are to make tension between ethnic groups, races and religions to promote their own hatred. This can lead to violence and deaths. This is therefore not protected!!!!

Good question. First off, the BNP are big enough and are currently gaining support rapidly. (They have seats in the EU) Secondly, your right, everyone has the right to agree to disagree. :)

The anti-bnp brigade are a very tiny loud minority, they are anti-british immigrants, islamic extremists and white liberals who have been brainwashed to hate their own culture.

Contrary to your belief, the BNP are extremists, and that will be proved if they ever get to power.

There is well documented evidence to prove that many of their members have convictions for terrorist related offences such as , possession of explosives, manufacturing bombs and possession of illegal weapons.

No big deal really.....Just a big headache for the rest of the country......However....one big question remain:

How do we solve a problem like the BNP.....a blatant racist organisation?.....How do we catch this fly in such a way ....that we contain it and prevent it from running amok.....and damaging the rest of British society?.....NOW.....Is that not 'the big deal'.....??

It's simply STILL more anti-white racism. I don't know why we continue to tolerate this B.S. They're stealing from our children and brainwashing them to hate themselves. This needs to stop.
