My girlfriend wants to be Infantry...?
I told her the Army didn't allow females to be Infantry. She can just join the USMC for that right cause EVERY Marines a rifleman?
So every Marine isnt a rifleman like they claim? Cause i'm in the Army as an infantryman and a rifleman is an infantryman...
this wasnt a serious question... just making fun of the fact that Marines consider their pogs riflemen lol

I'm a female Marine and no, we can not be apart of an infantry unit. It just doesn't work that way. We are "riflemen", but we are not out there doing a grunts job. However, we will help provide security forces with our unit, do convoys, that sort of thing. Or she can do the lioness program, which is close enough to being infantry for a female. They inspect women to make sure they aren't strapped to a bomb and crazy stuff like that. Since our men can't touch the women in iraq or afghanistan... someone's got to do it!

Basically women cant join in direct combat MOS. Infantry one of them. Though all marines are trained in infantry combat. Just that they wont be directly sent to the front lines.

That doesnt mean she would be doing an infantry job. Tell her to join the army as a combat MP. Same damn job anyway.

Nope, no females the Infantry in any service. Nor Armor or Artillery.
Closest thing would be an MP.

i truly believe that women do not belong on the front lines, and that's not because i'm sexist, but it's just what i believe. by the way, my cousin who is in the navy feels the same way.
