my proportion project for school?

For my math class i have to take an item and make it 3-5 times bigger. i need help picking what item and how to make it. any ideas? thanx!

    You can pick a square or a rectangle or a triangle or any diagram with dimensions of your choice.

    If it is to be made 3 or 4 or 5 times bigger just multiply the dimensions by 3 or 4 or 5 respectively.

    For ex. if you picked a square of 6 cms and wanted it to be made bigger by 3 times then the bigger square side shall be taken = 6*3 = 18 cms

    In case of a rectangle both the length and width are to be multiplied,

    in case of a triangle all the three sides are to be multiplied,

    in case of a pentagon all the sides are to be multiplied

    and in case of a circle the radius is to be multiplied

    In case of any other diagram or a picture all the dimensions involved like length, width, height, thickness etc. are to be multiplied

    i'd say look for something that has a triangle or box form. that would be the easiest thing to use. as for what kind of item in particular, i have no idea, it really depends on what you have access to and what's easy to manipulate. we did a model kite once and then created a real size kite that was 4 times larger :)

    our material was that paper mache that is extremely lightweight. kinda like tissue paper! good luck on your proportion project :)

    For area, a small checkerboard and a 3-5 times larger one.

    or circumference, say a balloon (one small, one larger).

    Actual mass is tricky, a sugar cube made twice as large (2 x 2 x2) has 8 times the mass.
