I don't think its so much that racism isn't being dealt with because you have organizations that were birthed out of the civil rights era. However I do see your point. As it relates to terrorism, I think the threat of it is just more serious because it is something that Americans deal with on a daily basis. When you have terrorist organizations that want to do harm, that are continuously plotting to kill innocent civilians. The whole idea is to stop terrorist from completing their mission because the threat is always there. I think as it relates to racism, many people are still in denial that it doesn't exist. I understand that racism is not as blatant as it once was, but it doesn't mean it doesn't exist. The reason why you don't hear as much about it is because you have those who deny it is still there, and most people would rather not talk about it. So I get your point that it is still an issue. But terrorism is more of an immediate issue. Both are things that America should deal with, but terrorism is much worse because you have individuals that want to kill innocent lives just because we are American.

It is, to me, absolutely amazing that the "land of the free" where the Statue of Liberty stands so proudly is still where it is with respect to racism. It's astounding to be honest.

To answer your question, they are more afraid of terrorism because it is a quick sort of damage, like an explosion. Racism just ruins people's lives in a slower kind of way. And besides, they are used to it. The evil that is new is always scarier than the evil you already know.

Terrorism is more expensive to fix than racism.

Racism can be fought via education and multicultural programs in schools and communities.

The press of America and the politicians make the racisim, not us people.
