Do you know any natural Wasp and Hornet repellents? What do Hummingbirds like?

We are starting to get Wasp and Hornets. I am terrified of Wasp, Hornets, and Bees so I am not at all happy. I'd like to plant some things outside. But the Wasp and Hornets are showing up.

Is there anything you know of that natural repells Wasp and Hornets?

I've seen Hummingbirds wandering around outside. What do they like?

I am considering getting Snap Dragons. Would that work out in these plans? In the past when I had Snap Dragons I didn't see any Bees, Wasp or Hornets going after them, but birds, squirrels, and moths/butterflies [and people's pets] seemed to like investigateing them. I haven't tried any Snap Dragons where I live now,.. they have always been hearty when I had them.

flowers / bees and wasps just go hand in hand (wing in petal? ) Both are beneficial and essential for the garden. I am sure people have been accidentally stung while gardening, I just know of no one who ever was and with my work in gardens I could see where the bees and wasp would take it as more harassment than just gardening and I have never been stung. The stinging usually is when they are in a defense mode for their nests. Hummingbirds will be attracted to flowers for the sugary nectar, the same thing the bees will be attracted too. Plastic is probably your only choice.

Although the hummingbird tends to feed on red flowers, they go in for tube flowers like the red trumpet vines and there are a lot of flowers that attract them Honeysuckle, petunias, nasturtiums, and lilacs, four o'clock, morning glories, zinnas, gladiolus and putunia are a few. And azteis, Those are a few. I do not know about snap dragons.

There is a home made trap for wasps and things and I do not think the hummingbirds can get their beaks in it.

    2 liter soda bottle

ad one half cup of sugar and half cup water and shake

add 1 cup cider vinegar vinegar

    banana peel

    add water until half full

    lid on bottle

cut 3 fourths hole in the curve area. Hang where ever.

This can be fixed so the birds can not get their long beaks in it.

Source(s): Good luck. I remember seeing hummingbirds hovering over trumpet plants people had running up their porches. Some people put the sugar stuff in the hummingbird feeders.
