Statistics question, poisson distribution?
Suppose taht a certain city averages 4 new cases of TB per year. Further suppose taht the number of new cases of TB can be modeled with a Poisson distribution.

b) find the probability taht 10 people will contract TB over the next 2 years

a) i think the first 1 is pretty straight-forward, just use the poisson formula with λ=4, so you get e^-4 (by evaluating at x=zero)
b) this one i think, will require a modified poisson formula, where instead of λ, we use λt=2*4=8, and then use that new parameter for your formula (evaluate at x=10)
