So we just brought the baby home on saturday.. he isnt even a week old yet.. I changed his diaper and noticed on his legs were reddish spots.. they vary in size and he doesnt seem to be in pain( no crying or anything) Curious if this is diaper rash or maybe heat rash.. He has an appt wed. but just wondering if any experienced moms or dads on here have seen this thanks

yes it could be possibly a diaper rash just use plenty of vaseline in the areas that are red until you get the dr

Diaper rash is just on the bum area so if your son has them on his legs it wouldn't be that. I'm not sure where you live to know how warm it is for a heat rash but if your son isn't bothered by it just wait until Wed. and have the Dr. look at it.

All I would say is that as long as the legs are clean and you haven't used any lotions on him he should be fine. Some baby creams may have caused a slight irritation or if you haven't been washing his clothes in a baby recommended laundry detergent than it could just be a slight reaction to regular laundry soap. Babies skin is so sensitive that all my midwife told me to use when changing or washing my child was water on a cloth and olive oil for the bum area.

with the prickly heat rash, it kind of looks like a lot of zits nd is a pinkish/red color nd lots of them very close together

diaper rash tends to be fairly bright red dots that arent right up close to each other

my gues is the friction from his leg and diapers you may need to change the brand and see how that works. my best friend had a baby sister who was allergic to alot of diapers
