Why does the Pope preach against homosexuality but protect paedophilic gay priests?

I want this to be answered by Catholics (and not by people out to criticise Catholicism).

Why are you supporting your Pope? Why are your cardinals defending him? Why can't you all make him abdicate in favour of a more responsible pope?

I don't understand ...

The Catholic church preaches against homosexuality but it condones activities of paedophilic gay priests.

When the Pope says that Cardinal Ratsinger, he could not rat and sing about the offenders because be was not aware. Is this not the same reason of Enron or Worldcom's CEOs - I was not aware, I had no control, I did not have the expertise.

He has no control over the sheep under his see? What excuse is that? Why aren't you guys clamouring for his abdication?

And his trusted aide who is the overseer of theological compliance and the vatican whip then trivialises the Holocaust just to defend his boss?

First, The Pope was Never a Nazi, proof of this was found in German Military Documents, where the neighbors of Ratzinger ( Josef Ratzinger, now Pope Benedict) have complained that the Ratzingers never gave the Salute, they never took down their Crucifixes, they never saw an support or picture of Hitler himself. The Popes Brother even ran away when he was called up for military service, which documents were also found that proved he ran away. For Josef, he was forced out of the Seminary at 12 and was sent into battle, he was court marshalled for abandoning his post and gave into the enemy when he was supposed to hold his position at all costs, his parents were accused of being American and British Sympathisers..........so the Pope was not a Nazi, He opposed it and so did his Parents.

SECOND, dont believe what you read in the Newspapers, the accused clergy were straight, but due to the vow of Celibacy, that is no sex. They could not bear this and therefore committed this act against Children, NOT ONLY BOYS. Now the media has taken this and said PEDOPHILE, which refers to a older person, who is GAY, and molests children, into a whole new context, pointing the finger at the Catholic accused Clergy as GAY PEDOPHILES, which, is wrong because the priests are heterosexual's, but to relieve their urges, they then commit this vile act, and that is why people say gay pedophile priests, hence the media is telling you the wrong thing. Now Cardinal Ratzinger ( this is the PROPER SPELLING) before becoming Pope he had urged John Paul II to change the handling of Sex Abuse cases by the Clergy, and pushed for more tougher laws, and action. Now if it wasn't for Cardinal Ratzinger, the Church would have swept it under the mat and let it rot away, but did they let that...NOPE they didnt. And as good catholics, we told the truth, the pope told the truth about these acts, and isn't that enough for you people, its better to tell something then nothing. And he does have Control, but there are wolves who try to tear it apart, the wolves are the Media, and they claim that the Pope had no Knowledge, but he did, thats why HE CONFRONTED IT AND TOLD THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD

Im a devout Catholic, and i support the Pope 100%, even if there are sex abuse cases, because i know, and so does the Faithful know, that there is about 98% of Priests out there in the World who are doing good, who are following Christ's ministry correctly. The Pope is one of them. And the Pope is not covering them up, he is exposing them, it was the Pope himself who revealed about the Sex abuse cases and told the world about the Irish sex scandles and abuses by the clergy. I recon the Pope has done enough, and i recon the Church has taken more hits to the nuts then any other Religious Church, and i give credit to the Pope. We, my faith, and the Catholic Church was brought upon our knees, but through prayer, and our faith in Christ and his Apostle, Pope Benedict, the Church becomes stronger and wiser, and is able to rise from the ashes.

Also, the media pick on the Church because they want money, the Catholic Church is an easy target, and therefore they persecute us. Have you ever read in the News paper about any sex abuse by Protestant's, Anglicans, Baptists, Muslims, Pentecostal??? No you havent, the Media picks out us, The Catholics, The One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church. They dont even run news of Catholics being persecuted in Egypt, 2009 Christmas Eve, three Muslim Men walked up to the faithful gathered outside the Catholic Church and opened fire on them, killing 13 people including a priest who tryed to shield the mother and her baby daughter, did you read about that, maybe not, what about 5 Catholic priests who were executed in Laos, their bodies were dumped in a well, their crime, giving mass to the faithful. What about a Bishop who was robbed on the street of LA, when that person found that he was a Catholic, stabbed him with his own cross and left to die, or millions of Catholics who are missionaries, trying to make POVERTY HISTORY, helping the poor, the wicked, the lonely...huh have u heard any of these in the news, i dont think so, but wen it comes to sex abuse....the whole freakin media goes crazy at persecuting us Catholics.....see my point.

And think about this, these sex abuse allegations coincided with Holy Week, In our Calender it is a time where Jesus was going to Suffer, leading up to the Crucifixion of Christ, and his Rising from the Dead. These people, who are in the Media tryed to make the flock go astray, but the flock is not stupid, we have Christ, and the Pope. Didnt you watch the Ceremonies in Italy, Rome, thousand and thousands gathered to celebrate the Lord Last Supper, His death and rising, as also did Australia, USA, Germany, even Ireland, thousand and thousands of the faithful flocked to church, no matter the situation, the Catholic Church remained strong and we still have trust and support for his Holiness Pope Benedict XVI

God Bless him, and God Bless you

its sad that a handful of corrupt people can ruin the reputation of religion for everyone. If you want to look at it as every "minister or Priest" is gay and corrupt that's your choice. But that is also making a gross generalization. I dont understand why you would make a statement saying people who preach against homosexuality are gay themselves. That's like saying, George Bush is an idiot, therefore so are all americans

I honestly don't understand either! I don't understand why people worship imperfection. After all, man is not perfect! Where's the logic behind that?

NO OFFENSE TO ALL THE CATHOLICS!!! I RESPECT YOUR RELIGION!

you have said it---you don't understand---and you don"t want people who are just going to criticize Catholics to answer because you want to be the only one that does that?

You do not have any idea what your going on about--you just think you do.

You ought to see how they NEVER TALK about this in India, where Christians always try to defame Hindu priests (with a little help from BBC) - occasionally even killing them.

But Bhagavan, he knows what is in their hearts.

they are acts of homosexuality , the media find it a lot easier to lump it all under the one name ,paedophilia , it makes it for more salacious reading

  • One word; Hypocrite! OK a couple of more. That's the word for someone who says; do as I say, not as I do.
