no job in the film industry is easy to get. everything is about working your way up and knowing how to get yourself where you need to be. the film industry is one of the most difficult industries to work in. if you are interested in acting, don't give up on your dream. it is a good idea to start taking acting classes and get involved as much as you can. get a lot of experience in plays, and if you have any friends interested in making films, act for them. then (assuming you are not yet in college) look for an art school that is well known for acting. the connections you make in school are going to be incredibly important for your entire career because this business is all about who you know. get an agent. this is very important because they well send out your portfolio and find you auditions. don't be discouraged when you are starting with very small gigs such as an extra, because everyone starts somewhere and no one just starts off at the top.
there are so many different jobs in film you can get. the most well known would be director, cinematographer, screenwriter, and editor. to be a director is to be king/queen of the set. everything you say goes and thats final. it is the most stressful job for this reason, but if you are talented it can be the most rewarding. to be a director you have to have very good people skills and organizational skills. you have to have a lot of patience and be able to work well under intense pressure. a cinematographer is the person who does the actual filming. this is a great job for people who are good at photography and seeing the world from different and interesting angles. a cinematographer's job is to make the film and the talent look good. this can be very stressful as well because if something doesn't look right it is your fault, and small mistakes can keep you from getting hired again. the screenwriter is one of the most fundamental people involved in making a film because obviously they start the entire process. screenwriters need excellent writing skills, and must be able to think about how their dialogue will translate onto the screen. an excellent screenwriter is one who can tell a story that has not been told 1000 times before (which is much harder then most people realize). finally, the editor is the person who takes all of the raw footage and makes it into a movie. editors need a vast knowledge of higher end editing programs such as FInal Cut Pro, and they must have a lot of patience. editors need to be very creative and know how to make the shots cut together so that they don't look awkward. editors are the final factor that either makes or breaks a film.
of course there are many other jobs such as assistant director, make up artist, costume designer, set design, gaffer (set up lights), script supervisor (makes sure there are no continuity issues when filming), and many others. besides people who work on the actual film are people who distribute it and critic it. like you mentioned, there are film critics which is an excellent job for people who prefer to watch movies rather then make them. Producers are in charge of getting funding for a film (which is essential. obviously no money means no movie) and they are also in charge of making sure the film is seen once its done.
there are so many ways to get involved in the film industry. if acting is your first choice, then definitely work towards that and stick to it. it will most likely take a long to break in to the industry, so don't get discouraged. if you have any questions feel free to send me a message :) good luck!

Film critics can either be very rich, or very poor. It all depends on the mgazine/program you are employed by.
about 80% of actors make less than $3,000 a year! Get a degree or job to keep yourself stable while pursuing the theatre
Film directing is a cut-throat business, but very rewarding. Many, many directors are successful and found in the tiniest of places.
There are many more jobs, such as animators, special effects, costume and makeup, vocal coaches, acting coaches, sound, lighting, and there is even a job where you design the set of the movie!

The best would be imaging. CGI is fun and interesting. And the people involved are not flaky like actors and singers, etc.
