Rangers and SF delema!?

so I need experienced people to answer this only please (no offense but i need concrete answers). So my dream is to be in the Special Forces more than anything. There is an 18x contract but that seems very risky, I dont have a problem going into Rangers with the 40 contract then eventually moving to SF after 4 years or so....but can I get some advice on this delema?

Also I have a freind whom if I go rangers he will too (now this part has nothing to do with my enlistment choices) but if he and I enliist together what are the odds we will serve together?

again no bullshit please if you werent in or involved with either of these services please keep your mouth shut ,thanks!

Special Forces are often looked at as the "brains" of the Army's Special Op's community where as Rangers are kinda more the "brawn". There both very individually different in what they do. You can still get an 18X contract but Ranger contracts are gone for the year now. No slots left. So you'll have to wait around for a while if you want a Ranger contract. If you and your buddy went Rangers, and provided you made it, the two of you are going to end up in one of three Ranger Battalions in Regiment. No guarantees or promises if you'll end up in the same one. But two of the Batt's are in Georgia. So chances you'd be close are decent.

I just feel obligated to tell you that you might want to add more information to your post because it actually doesn't require opening ones mouth to give you answers that don't help with the original question.
