How to make video record onto external hard drive?
going to be offroading a lot this summer and would really like to be able to hook mine 500gb external hard drive to my digital camera that can take video and record that way. Not buying a camcorder or anything, i would buy some type of adapter/cord who knows what. Any input?

Can not be done unless your camera allows image capture (off camera) and that would require a software program to facilitate that. I have a program called EOS Viewer-Utility for my Canons on my laptop. The camera is connected to my laptop and every time I press the shutter, the image is recorded on the laptop.
