Where can I find a legal template to notify someone they must return my property?
I have an ex I used to live with and he refuses to give me back my things. The police told me that before I take legal action, I should send him a written notice that he must return my things. I don't speak legalese, so I'm trying to find a template for this sort of notice. I googled "legal templates" but I can't find one for my situation, or even a similar situation. Could anyone please help?
Thanks. I know the basic message I need to get across, but I'm not sure how to formulate it so that it sounds legal and all. I was hoping there would be a template, perhaps a sample for something similar to my situation.

all you have to do is either type or hand right a letter out and say you have so many days to return my things or i will seek legal action.make sure you sign it and keep a copy for your records as well so you have proof.take it to your local post office and send it out certified mail so that his signature required.he would probably take it more seriously if you have a lawyer do it.it will cost you about $300 dollars at most to have it done but doing it yourself is perfectly alright. if he does not return your things go file with the magistrate in the area.
