Who do you feel the deepest connection with?
I mean artist, a music artist.
Me, it's strange to say, but Eminem. I've listened to him my entire life. I don't even like rap except his. In fact, i hate rap, but something about his music amazes me and he'll forever be one of my favorites. But besides him, Jim Morrison. I love him to death. i Just feel like i can relate to them and what they sing about, because they're real and i've gone through a lot of what they have. I'm not asking your favorite singers, because i have a lot of favorites, i'm asking if you feel like you have a connection with an artist, and if so... who?

Jewel - lyrically, musically, vocally, physically, and spiritually - she is absolutely beautiful in every aspect.
It's odd saying this, but one of the most devastating moments in my life was when I saw a picture of her with some guy putting his face in her chest. I wasn't upset because I was jealous, but I was disappointed. I understand that she is human, but I always had this delusional thought that she was above human desires. I don't, in any way, think that sexual desires are bad, but I felt she wasn't bound by the desires of every other human.
Then "Intuition" came out. The first time I heard the song was in her video. I don't think it is a bad song, but I wasn't a fan of her provocative dancing. I am all for the "flaunt it if you got it" train of thought, but again, I didn't expect that from her.
I know it seems like I am purely pointing out all of the things I dislike about Jewel, but I am not. I only say this to show how high on the pedestal she is in my eyes. These events didn't change the respect and admiration I have for her. Instead, it simply changed my seeing her as a "angel trapped in a human body" to a "human with the soul of an angel." Coincidentally, I don't believe in God or angels, but if I did, I couldn't think of a better human personification of an angel than Jewel.
It is, however, odd that even though I am seemingly infatuated with Jewel, I don't know much about her. I don't "follow" her, nor do I have any desire to. I think I just don't like seeing out of character. That is, I love her songs, and all that they encompass, but I don't care much for her personal life. I guess I am like that with most celebrities. I like the characters in movies and on television, but not necessarily the actors and actresses that portray them.
Well, I think I wrote enough here. I am sure you were not looking for such a response, but it just so happened that I was listening to, and thinking about, Jewel when I read this question. I apologize if this was too lengthy or too much information.
Not to make this go on too much longer than it has, but I would like to mention that there are many, many artists out there that I absolutely love. I listen to everything and have little to no genre biases. I just have to say that Jewel is my favorite because she encompasses all that is beauty - the very epitome of the word.
