I'm using my landlords wireless router for internet access but a majority of the time I have trouble?

connecting to the internet. I recently had a new mother board installed and it was working fine until I got a windows update. Could this be a problem with the wireless router or something to do with the computer? Any advice is appreciated.

One advice ... never update your hardware drivers through Windows Updates...

It could be you selected to update the wireless adapters driver through windows update. If thats the case you can go to Device manger . Right click on the wireless adapter > properties > drivers tab > click on roll back drivers

    OR

Restore the system to the time before running the Windows update. Since you mentioned that the problem started to occur after Win updates, then this option should be your first choice.

    Good luck!

community cable from the internet port on the modem to the internet port of the router. community cable from between the router's LAN ports to the NIC contained in the computer. Configure the router using the computer via operating the setup CD for the router, or type the router's IP handle on your browser and login with the default username and password and set it up manually for on the spot. If the modem isn't doing DHCP and your ISP calls for you to characteristic IP, area and DNS to a linked gadget, then positioned those contained in the WAN interface of the router. If that became required, then you truly may have further those settings initially for your pc to make certain that you to get admission to the internet. If the modem is assigning you a dynamic handle, then it truly is going to likely be assigning the router an handle to apply truly than to the computer, and the computer (and laptop) will be assigned IP addresses from the router. sparkling as airborne dirt and mud?

OK. You had your brother install the motherboard and now you're having problems.

Sounds like you need...a mother from another brother.
