Payroll taxes increase expenses thus higher payroll taxes mean higher prices. If you make $10 an hour the company has to spend another $14-20 an hour to pay you that $10. If you completely eliminated payroll taxes companies could fire tax accountants, do their own HR instead of outsourcing it to India, and save at least %3 of their operating costs. As an employee instead of making $10 an hour you could make $15. No the company won't pass all it's savings on to employees. Some to the consumer but it'll pocket some of those savings. Still $15 is a whole lot better than $10 an hour. Paying %2 less on anything you buy even better, though a national sales tax might eat that %2 up but in the end there's more money in your pocket at the end of the day if we use a flat tax or national sales tax instead of payroll taxes.

No, your representative in Washington considers those taxes as theirs. They believe that all you earn as theirs, not yours. They are just being nice to you by letting you keep a little for yourself.

Those taxes are turned in to the Gov. if they are not paid to the Fed or State level on time that business is closed down and boarded up

Corporations, small businesses and retailers have all been conscripted by the Federal and State governments to collect taxes and none of them are compensated for it.

No. But if, for a moment, they did, the federal government would set them straight right quick and in a hurry. No corporation ever conceived is more money hungry than a government.

Uh ... not really since they send it to the GOVERNMENT who thinks its theirs. You don't pay payroll tax ... companies do.

Hey yin yang, you might want to change your name to ding dong. Corporations don't impose taxes, they are forced to collect them for the government. Collecting taxes COSTS corporations money, big money, it doesn't MAKE money for them. They'd greatly prefer not to have to do it.
