Moving to another city with boyfriend?

My boyfriend and I have been together for 3 years and have lived together for 1 year. Now that we're both finishing up with our degrees, me with my masters and him with his bachelors, we've been trying to decide where to go from here. Although I have a job I love, the degree he has is really only useful for living in a large city. We've both been looking at jobs in NYC and have found positions that we both want to go for. The question is...does it make sense to move across the country with your boyfriend? I feel like we should be engaged or married before making a move together like that, but he insists that it's just another step in our relationship. Any advice?

Unless you're planning to get married, don't move just to be with him. Move there if you want that job and do it for yourself. "Its just the next step" is just an excuse. Tell him that if he isn't going to commit to you, you won't commit to moving with him. That's what sounds fair to me.

Idk I think that your right about being married first. but I would say go for it, it could be something different for the both of you and its not like he will be controling everythink your looking for a position of your own. Go for it!!
