How do I remove traces of the 'ave.exe' virus?

My computer was recently infected with the 'ave.exe' virus. I ran both Malwarebytes Anti-Malware as well as McAfee and removed what seemed to be most of the virus.

I know that some traces remain because some of my Google searches in Firefox are 'misdirected' and I am unable to connect to Microsoft.com and/or Windows Update. Other than that, no traces seem to remain. I've run:

Spybot Search and Destory

Malware Bytes Anti Malware (again)

McAfee (again)

and Super AntiSpyware

The problem still remains. Can anyone help? Thanks.

Update:

Update 4-12-10:

To date, nothing has worked. Problem still continues.
