i saw a tv special once that talked about the music played in stores
faster paced music causes you to do things faster
slower paced music makes you do things slower
so if you listen to fast paced music you would run faster
it has something to do with your brain and how it interprets things and sends comands i think
you could always do a lab your self with some volunteers
get about five people to run a distance without music then with fast music then with slow music use the same song and distance for each trial and have the people be in the same age and weight and health range and you have a real life scenario ^^

You can use the same evidence that shows that listening to music helps students study or something like that.
