Where will Americans "go to for a better life" after illegal Mexicans make the U.S. as poor&corrupt as Mexico?

You're on the money with this question. California, which is now about 37 percent Latino, is expected to be majority Hispanic by 2042. This trend is worrisome. There is a big Hispanic underclass in America with a grudge, a burning sense of having been victimized by the “gringos.” Some Hispanics talk openly of a reconquista, an effort to reclaim the American Southwest that once belonged to Mexico.

Today’s influx of poor Latin American immigrants comes from countries less than congenial to democracy, a law-based society, or public education. Many experts look with alarm on the fact that, unlike earlier European and Asian immigrants, the tsunami from the south too often UNDERVALUES EDUCATION. In 2000, only 25 percent of working-age male Mexican immigrants had graduated high school, a sad fact that contributes to an increasingly volatile underclass.

It is morally shameful to expect taxpayers to fund free education and medical care for lawbreakers so that the wealthiest Americans – restaurant owners, ranchers, agribusiness owners, and construction companies – can hire cheap labor regardless of the national consequences.

What is more troubling is that in previous waves of migrants to the USA, they assimilated, they learned the language. Here, today...you find millions unwilling to learn English. Insteas, they demand to be catered to, by propagating the Spanish language. Are we about to become a nation of "barrios" or become the worlds first Third World Superpower? Or just forget about the superpower bit. Are we the first major country in the world to regress to a Third World status? The handwriting is plainly on the wall.

With so many Americans losing their homes and unable to find jobs, it is outrageous to say Hispanics still take jobs no one else will do. Naive American liberals need to stop shouting over Emma Lazarus’s “Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses….” World population was 1.5 billion when she penned those lines. It now approaches 7 billion. America is not a dumping ground for the rest of the world’s underclass, undereducated surplus population.

So to answer your question, where will Americans go? A lot of retirees are already living overseas, where their retirement money gives more of a stretch in living expense terms. But what about those who cannot afford to retire? There is already a trend of living in enclosed communities, or closed pockets of ethnicities. Some are settling down in further north (Canada), and some have gone far and wide as far as South-east Asia. If this becomes worse, then I plan to go back to Australia where I came from, which has a far more sensible immigration policy. They accept migrants but not to the point of committing national suicide!

Committing national suicide is not without precedent. The Dutch are rapidly losing their country. Before long, its largest cities will belong to Muslim immigrants. What then becomes of the liberal tradition of Erasmus and traditional Dutch tolerance? Illegal immigration may ultimately be more threatening to the character and values of the US than any threat from radical Islamists.

The answer is simple but no lapdog dem will ever take it on..votes are more important than security and providing 'domestic tranquility' something they all promised to obey and defend. The moral climate in the USA has finally reached the intended goal of leftest ideologues after years of dumbing down the kiddies, rewriting history, ACLU "interpretations," entitlement abuse, hollywood, the old major networks and liberals without spines. Americans have no place to go, that's why the fight will happen here and the victor will ruin or retake America.

Also it is crazy you are saying taxpayers are paying for Illegals when majority of Mexicans are here in the United States legally. I gets you have no guilt that your ancestors built tons of wealth on the back of African Slaves and now all of a sudden you are getting ripped off? What are we talking about there is poverty all over the world and oppression and human rights violations all over the world. we even have oppression and poverty in America. all of our companies are moving to the far east or mexico, plus illegals bilk our economy and send a large portion of their tax free money back to mexico. i,m tired of my taxpayer dollars, housing, feeding, educating, medicating and giving them free reign while i,m struggling to put food on the tablle, taking care of my kids education and healthcare, if its so bad in mexico let the people revolt like we did 200 years ago to free us from the chains of dictatorship, poverty and oppression. you can run but you cannot hide stand up and fight and take our country back.well, i love mysa, the 5 year old gets to jump in line ahead of mexican kids to learn english while the citizen child has to go across town to another school or wait another year. you miss my point the people in darfur can,t jump across the ocean to get here but their plight is much worse. plus the mexicans get tax credits, business opportunities and drive illegal because cops are forced to turn their heads, i,m not without compassion but you don,t treat strangers or neighbors better than your own citizens or children.

We Brits are concerned that 3.000.000 immigrants came to the UK in the last 10 years and that is only legal immigrants.We are a small island as well.About 9% of our population is immigrant or recent immigrant 2nd generation, around 6 million. The Muslim population alone is estimated as over 2,500,000.
