Is it true that in Belgium and other top countries both parents loose custody of the children?

I heard that in Top European Countries both parents loose custody of the children once the parents decide to divorce. And that is the law. The children are taken away and raised in an orphanage. That avoids all the family court wars.

Update:

I was actually wondering if anyone has references to web sites or other sources where this law is highlighted.

Update 2:

The idea is that both parents become responsible for paying the child support to the government. It is understood that the goverment will charge as much or more than the child needs.

It's certainly better for the taxpayer, therefore, I am in favour. Seriously, it seems like a good idea, because people who cannot stay married, should not have got married in the first place. A lot of men and women think that marriage is about selling one self and misrepresenting one self before marriage.

Belgium is a"top" country? Where the hell did you get that from? UK doesnt do that one of the parents gets custody or sometimes they share, though its usually the mother who gets the child.

No, that isn't true. The cost to the government would be too prohibitive.
