At 11 months old, you might start teaching him to drink from a regular cup, at least while at home. My kids were both capable of that by about 8 or 9 months. But in the stroller or car, well, that's different, lol!!

There was one kind of sippy cup my kids liked, I bought them from Superstore. They are small ones with handles on each side for beginners, and the lids to them also fit on the larger one, which is narrow in the middle so as to be easy to hold. The lids have a removable stopper on the inside so that the liquid cannot be spilled, and the toddler has to suck to drink, as with a bottle. Removing the stopper makes the liquid come out freely by tipping it, just as you would a cup.

I apologize for the lack of pictures, however these are easy enough to find at superstore, and most drug stores and pharmacies!

The books are junk, yet besides.... Why no longer an open cup? He has to strengthen the talents to apply one at last and no remember once you introduce an open cup you are going to have messes. that's only part of the technique. in case you're that loopy over spills then you definately can start up sluggish. Open cups with water and easily on the table. as quickly as he starts off to get the hang of it you grants him different issues to drink and enable him have the cup removed from the table. and are not getting discouraged if he spills it, even adults are clumsy at times. and many babies pass sippy cups altogether and do properly with open cups from 6 months on. that's not complicated or a huge deal. We in no way did something yet an open cup. Spills have been minimum and he or she's almost 2 and hasn't made a multitude in months.

My son is 10 months old. We tried alot of different sippie cups, but the ones with the little straw tops work the best for us. He really don't know how to drink out of the other ones yet. The ones we get are also spill proof so it works great.

There isn't one specific sippy cup that ALL children take to. It's really your son's preference. Just keep trying different cups until he finds one that he likes. Transitioning to the cup is not easy, it can take a lot of time. Best of luck to you.
