I think you bought an intake for a small block chevy but in 1987 they switched over to the LT1 (second generation small block) for the irocs.

Basically I think you have the wrong intake and need to get one for an LT1

seems such as you have a sturdy start to a nioce highway overall performance engine. Why kill the ability off with junk heads. Heads are the #a million ingredient to make or wreck your power. those eighty's center bolt iroc heads are junk 305 v8 heads. detrimental flow, small chambers and small valves (a million.eighty 4") Get you a set of used 1996-00 vortec 350 truck heads. Casting 062 or 906. those are super heads and could earnings you approximately 40 HP over those iroc heads. you could %. them up used for $2 hundred-4 hundred you will desire a vortec form intake nonetheless. sell your intake on craigslist and purchase a vortec form.

I just bought an intake manifold and it came with two different styles of metal grommets to use on the center holes. One set is for the more angular bolts and one set is designed to work with the more upright bolt holes. Check with Summit Racing and get hold of their tech people. I'm sure they can fix you up.
