Worries about Calif. priest came early in career
By GILLIAN FLACCUS and BROOKE DONALD, Associated Press Writer Gillian Flaccus And Brooke Donald, Associated Press Writer – Sat Apr 10, 4:18 pm ET
OAKLAND, Calif. – "Even in his seminary days in the early 1970s, there were questions about California priest Stephen Kiesle: Colleagues said he had trouble relating to adults, lacked spirituality and didn't seem committed to anything but youth ministry."
"Still, future Pope Benedict XVI resisted pleas from the diocese to act on the case, according to a 1985 letter in Latin obtained by The Associated Press that bore his signature as then-Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger."
The Papacy and the Vatican Slideshow makes me think of Matthew 23:27,28 World English Bible, "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, [religious leaders in Jesus day] hypocrites! For you are like whitened tombs [gravestones], which outwardly appear beautiful, but inwardly are full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness. Even so you also outwardly appear righteous to men, but inwardly you are full of hypocrisy and iniquity." [or lawlessness] http://bible.cc/matthew/23-27.htm
Matthew 23:38 "Behold, your house is left unto you desolate. This was the consequence of refusing to come to Christ. The temple is the house meant. God will abandon it and leave it desolate. He will no longer accept its worship." (People's New Testament)
Outwardly appear beautiful [or righteous to men], but inwardly are full lawlessness? Do we see that today too? God will abandon it also? Has he already done so? Will the human laws keep resisting the pleas of the children much longer? How much more has not come to light yet? Will there be true repenting now? How deep and real will it be in truth? That is the key question we need answered! Don't put on a show of righteousness, be righteous in fact! People are sick of what they are hearing and seeing all over the the Internet and news! It cannot be ignored any longer can it?
What is said below is right too, "And this lust problem is not limited to Catholic priests. It crosses all religious boundaries and denominational lines." No matter who we are there are two main ways we act, by the flesh or the spirit. We allow one or the other to control us. When we weakly allow our imperfect flesh to rule us we hurt others and ourselves some times in little things and some times in big things. Galatians 5:19-21 "Now the works of the flesh are manifest, and they are fornication, uncleanness, loose conduct, idolatry, practice of spiritism, enmities, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, contentions, divisions, sects, envies, drunken bouts, revelries, and things like these. As to these things I am forewarning YOU, the same way as I did forewarn YOU, that those who practice such things will not inherit God’s kingdom." Not one of us will inherit God’s kingdom who practice such things. Fornication, fits of anger, drunken bouts, lust for children all SINFUL! Repent see Gal.5:22-26!
URGENT, Galatians 5:22-26, 22 "On the other hand, the fruitage of the spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faith, 23 mildness, self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24 Moreover, those who belong to Christ Jesus impaled the flesh together with its passions and desires. 25 If we are living by spirit, let us go on walking orderly also by spirit. 26 Let us not become egotistical, stirring up competition with one another, envying one another.

Matthew 23:37 Jesus says, “Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the killer of the prophets and stoner of those sent forth to her,—how often I wanted to gather your children together, the way a hen gathers her chicks together under her wings! But YOU people did not want it. 38 Look! YOUR house is abandoned to YOU. 39 For I say to YOU, YOU will by no means see me from henceforth until YOU say, ‘Blessed is he that comes in Jehovah’s name!’” Matthew 6:9 Jesus says, “YOU must pray, then, this way: “‘Our Father in the heavens [Jehovah], let your name be sanctified [or hallowed]. John 17:3 Jesus praying to his Father Jehovah "This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God [Jehovah], and of the one whom [[you sent forth]], Jesus Christ. 4 I have glorified you [Jehovah God] on the earth, having finished the work [[you have given me to do]]."
So Jesus made clear the Jewish religious system was abandoned because they did not bless he [Jesus and his followers at that time] that came in Jehovah’s name! [and now today also] Proverbs 18:10 says, "The name of Jehovah is a strong tower. Into it the righteous runs and is given protection." Psalms 83:18 says, "[[That people may know]] that you, whose name is Jehovah, You alone are the Most High over all the earth." For a person or religious system to abandon Jehovah and his sent Son Jesus is a serious sin. And if they do not repent they will be abandoned because they are like the killers of the prophets and stoner of those sent forth to her Jerusalem. How do you treat those today that come to your door in Jehovah's hallowed name? Would you like to kill and stone them without good cause too?

Well he'd probably update the language a bit but sure he would. Reading what Jesus is said to have said, very little has to do with establishing a new religion or reforming the existing one. He primarily spoke of what it means to live a good life. One doubts that the beatitudes are foremost in the minds of many, if not most, church leaders today.

You’re right. Jesus wasn’t quite the mild-mannered pacifist that so many picture him to be. He called ‘em like he saw ‘em, but he had the benefit of being able to read their hearts. We can’t read hearts, but we can judge by the fruit of those who call themselves Christians.
Whenever I see something like this, I am reminded of 2 Timothy 3:1-7: “But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.” Anyone who denies Christ in them (by the power of Holy Spirit), the hope of glory (Colossians 1:27) will never have power over sin.
And this lust problem is not limited to Catholic priests. It crosses all religious boundaries and denominational lines.
