If someone says to you, "I feel really sorry for you..."?

How do you feel about that, and what do you think it says about the person saying it?

It's hard to show the right type of sympathy for someone who is really down on themselves for whatever reason. The best thing you could do is say its okay and thank you if it's coming from a friend. But, come on, if it's like an enemy and they saying that to you, you know right off the bat they are trying to be rude or something. Just see who it's coming from and their intentions will be clear.
