Can't watch video on Linux/Firefox?

I just got Linux Ubuntu installed and I cannot play any videos on the internet. I just get error messages. I do have adobe flash and it is activated, my popup blocker is off and everything appears to be good but no go. I've been working at this for hours. Can anybody here tap into my computer via the internet and help me out?

Update:

Dowloaded Google Chrome, still nothing.

Try manually creating a plugins folder in the hidden chrome directory (whatever it may be called) located in you home folder. Then download Adobe Flash Player (tarball) and extract the content into the plugins folder.
