Comp crashed last week, programs not opening now after it was fixed?

I have no idea what happend to my computer last week but it wouldn't start up, not even in safe mode. I had called my tech support and we re-installed windows. I have a dell insiron 1525 laptop running windows vista. I have had a few problems since it was re-installed. the windows sidebar gave me the first error message "another program is running this proccess and cannot be opened". adobe reader gave me "unknown error occurred" and doesn't open anything. Then iTunes "unknown error occurred" and doesn't open either. I know i have ran itunes since the crash was fixed, so I did a system restore tonight but it did nothing. I have uninstalled and reinstalled all programs i'm having issues with except windows sidebar, i cannot find the download for that anywhere. should i just restore to factory setting? i really dont have anything on here worth saving (like pics or vids) and just need my computer running like it used to before the crash. would restoring to factory setting help? i have already done the system restore, and reinstalled these programs.

Update:

forgot to mention, windows search fails to initialize and windows help doesnt come up, also windows "find solutions" fails to work also.

You aint got nuttin to lose, go ahead. ~

Edit : Hard to believe a reinstall of windows was corrupted , but, you have alot of issues with this, Go ahead and do the system restore partition. Or if you have a install cd, make sure to do a clean install.

A computer's registry is one big database that has numerous files, options, and settings. These settings and options keep changing with every second of you using your PC and can lead to the damage of some of these settings. This causes errors to show up and the computer to crash. Registry cleaners http://make-a-computer-run-better.com/ software scan the computer's errors and matches all files and settings with the applications that use them. If it identifies any file or setting to be damaged, missing, or corrupted, it provides you with an updated list of the same and also repairs these errors. Therefore, if your computer keeps crashing and need to fix blue screen of death a good registry cleaner is all you need. Your computer can also cause problems because of redundant files in its registry. Reg cleaners identify all these redundant and junk files that were left over during the uninstalling process of hardware of software and delete them. This makes sure that the "computer keeps crashing" issue is taken care of.

Sounds like your re-install didn't actually work. You can try the factory restore, and see if that soplves the problem. If not, maybe call Dell and see if they can send you a restore DVD (if your computer didn't come with one)?
