What is wrong with my computer?
I'll be playing a game, suddenly I hear something turn off on my computer and then it's frozen. What is most likely the cause here?
Thanks..i'll keep you posted as I learn more.
Happened once also while I was evaluating the windows 7 performance on my computer.
Since then, mostly during game play.
I just installed windows 7 on this hard disk, and it was acting a bit funny, so it's hard to say. This motherboard and CPU had also fried before and they were replace by the manufactors. So it could really be anything.
Here's an update! It's isn't my CPU Fan nor my Graphics Card Fan. Both of them continued working after I froze last time. Something else shut off. Not sure what it is. I believe it's this hard disk or motherboard somewhere.

If you actually hear something., I'd look at the fan first - I had the same problem with my laptop - if the motherboard or CPU overheats, it will likely shut down, or freeze the computer. Listen if you can hear the fan running when it first starts up, then listen for it stopping after a while. You should be able to buy a new fan - they just plug into the motherboard. Check computer manufacturers website.

Only the problem is "cpu fan",it causing motherboard or CPU overheats, it will likely shut down, or freeze the computer. You should be able to buy a new fan if u din't find the same fan u can check in the cumputer workshop and u can get good condition old fan also, just plug into the motherboard. thats it.

It could very well possibly be your fan on the computer. It may turn off then warm the pc up and that's what will cause it to freeze. You can open it yourself and look but first make sure the pc is off. Then make sure the power cord is out of the pc. Then do not touch NOTHING but open it up and see if the fan is on or moving. If not turn pc off, keep it off, and get that fixed! If not fixed and you still run it you will very well fry some stuff then even have a higher bill..... good luck! :)
