I need a recipe for taco salad with Doritos?

I make a recipe just like that, but minus the meat, and we use Catalina.

But, I think french is very similar.

I've never heard it called western salad dressing, but perhaps this is the recipe you are looking for. It is really good! MIDWEST TACO SALAD 1 lb ground beef 1 tablespoon Mexican seasoning 1 head romaine lettuce 5 roma tomatoes 2 cups colby-monterey jack cheese, shredded 10 ounces Doritos, crushed (nacho flavor 1/2 bag) 8 ounces Catalina dressing, 1/2 bottle Brown hamburger with seasoning, drain and chill. In large bowl rip up lettuce, add tomatoes, cheese and chilled beef. Just before serving add chips and salad dressing. This is great as a left over, even though the chips get soggy, it's still really good. Make sure you cover, it absorbs other flavors from the fridge easily!

A true taco salad does not have salad dressing on them, but if you wish to use one both the french or russian will be fine. Other good choices are Catalina or Honey Mustard salad dressings.

Here is ours:

Doritos on the bottom;

Then re-fried beans on top of the Doritos;

Cooked meat (taco) on top of the beans;

(beans can be mixed with a little rice if you wish);

Shredded cheese on top of meat;

Tossed salad on top of cheese.

We also add sour cream on top of the tossed salad.

You can buy shells to put all this into instead of the Doritos.

Yeah, french or russian would be good, but I use to use thousand island when I made that salad. I would use 1 lb of ground beef, 1 packet of taco seasoning, and then put whatever toppings I would like, such as olives, tomato, green onion, etc... then add the doritos and dressing last.

Can use many types of dressing so go with your favorite. French or Russian or Catalina. Have you checked out their web site for a recipe?

why dont you use a taco sauce.. Maybe try guacamole or pico de gallo..
