How can I give someone a 1099?
The company that I work for is hiring a person(s) to do the office cleaning. I will be taking this on, with my boyfriend. They will not cut checks to two separate people, so I will be the one getting the check, which will produce a W-2 at the end of the year. I want to be able to give my boyfriend a 1099 at the end of the year. How do I make this work? Thanks in advance!
1 AnswerUnited States9 years agoI need a recommendation for a book for a 25 year old?
My boyfriend's son needs to learn some life skills, and needs to learn how to be a little more assertive for himself. He's 25 yrs old, been in some really crappy circumstances the past 10 years, and is just now trying to be independent. Can someone recommend a book or two that I can get for him?
Thanks!
1 AnswerBooks & Authors1 decade agomy boyfriend coughs up black clumps of junk...what is it?
Yeah, I know it's gross. He's been a smoker for way too many years, but I have do and don't have this.
He'll start coughing til he just about gags, then he has to spit out this hockey puck sized lump of grossness. Is it just sputum?
He was in the hospital a few years back for pneumonia, and was checked for lung cancer-negative, and he has had this cough-y thing for about 10 years.
Any insight?
5 AnswersMen's Health1 decade agoI need a recipe for taco salad with Doritos?
I used to make a taco salad that used Doritos chips, taco meat, lettuce, etc., but I cannot remember the dressing that was used in it. Something's telling me it was either French or Russian, but if anyone knows for sure, I'd really appreciate it!
6 AnswersCooking & Recipes1 decade agoLooking for a recipe keeper?
Any advice on such an item would be appreciated. I want to keep my recipes in a book. I have them on index cards, but am looking for sleeved pages that I can insert each of the cards. Even if I have to go the 'photo album' pages, where can I find smaller pages, because I don't want to use a huge book...just something small-ish, kitchen sized. I am sick of having to dig through the index card box every time I need to get a recipe out. Thanks to all answers. Points for best!
7 AnswersCooking & Recipes1 decade agoWhy am I a 'hair farmer'?
For years, I get this spot on my head that will hurt like heck. When I look at it, I see new hair growth...tiny tiny little hairs that are just coming up through the scalp. I now have four such places on my head. I have a LOT of hair, and I didn't think I had any room for more. Is this a common occurrence?

In the last eposide, William Banks' father was played by who? It's driving me nuts, because I recognize him, just can't come up with his name! Thanks!
1 AnswerDrama1 decade agoKoogle?? Anyone remember Koogle?
Does anyone remember the peanutbutter-like stuff that was called Koogle? It was in a short jar, had flavors like chocolate, banana, and a couple others. WHAT HAPPENED TO IT!?! THAT STUFF ROCKED! SAME WTIH GRAPE TANG!
1 AnswerOther - Food & Drink1 decade agoHow to repair sinking house foundation?
My mom's house is built on a concrete slab (no basement or crawl space). We've noticed for quite a few years now, that around the perimeter of the inside of the house, there is about a 1 to 1 1/2 inch 'ledge'. I diagnosed it as a sinking foundation.
We had a contractor out (he was extremely cocky), and he confirmed, with a $20,000 price tag to have the house pumped up (approx. 17 plugs). My mom was angry with this guy's attitude, and now won't have any work done until she has an engineer confirm what's already been said.
I'm getting desperate here! The chimney is pulling away from the house, one of the exterior walls is starting to bow. The walls are cracking, and one can only imagine what's going on with the ceilings--they're all suspended. Selling the house for what the land is worth is NOT an option. This needs to get fixed-the right way-and I need some advice. What kind of an engineer do I look for? How much 'should' this cost? Any other ideas?
8 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoWill my cat and new puppy get along...ever?
My cat is 5 years old, and we just got a puppy 5 days ago. They met once, while the puppy was sleeping, and as soon as she moved, the cat hissed (which she's never done before), and ran back to our bedroom, where she's been pretty much ever since. I want them to co-exist...will it happen? Am I expecting too much too soon, or will the cat 'come around'?
Intelligent answers appreciated!

Thinking about having one installed. Thoughts on cost to install, operating costs vs using the air conditioning? What about leaks around the installation site...hear that from a lot of people that have had them. Thanks for the help!
7 AnswersOther - Home & Garden1 decade agoPlease help with Yahoo Games (Dominoes)?
I cannot 'create a table'. I get the message "attempting to pop up window", but it will not. It will show that I am at a particular table, but really I'm not, since I can't see a board. I've tried turning the pop-up blocker off, that doesn't help either. Please, I've been trying to get back on for months!

1 AnswerFriends1 decade agoThis is driving me nuts...what is the name of this TV show??
There was a show, back in the early '90's that was about a guy's life, and his thoughts and/or experiences were shown as a scene from an old movie clip. It may have been on HBO. My boyfriend used to watch it, but now he doesn't even know what I'm talking about. I've been trying to come up with the name for weeks! HELP!

7 AnswersJokes & Riddles1 decade agoHave a question about gallbladder disorders?
My girlfriend has been losing a TON of weight over the past 6-8 months (she's now 5'7" and 106lbs). They haven't been able to figure out what's wrong with her, until a couple of days ago. They checked her gallbladder and said it was not functioning at all. They did a similar test a couple of months ago, but they said they found no stones, so the test was stopped. She's having her gallbladder removed tomorrow. Her friends and I have tried to suggest to her that she has an eating disorder (bulimia and anorexia run in her family). I thought the gallbladder helped digest fatty foods, but she swears that anything she eats makes her vomit or gives her diarrhea, to the point that she's lost all this weight. Does any of this 'add up' to anyone out there, or do you think she has gallbladder problems with a side of bulimia???
7 AnswersOther - Diseases1 decade agoI have been offered a 'payoff' amount on an old debt-accept?
I just received a letter in the mail from a debt collector, stating that the creditor has agreed to accept 60% of the balance due, as a lump sum settlement. I have a funny feeling that taking this option, as opposed to just paying the entire amount, is going to have a negative impact on my credit report. I'd rather have my credit 'clean', than make a dumb mistake by paying the smaller amount. We're not talking about a great deal of money, I just want it over with, either way.

I am the only person in my home that uses Messenger, so no one else is in. I don't have computers networked together, and it won't let me in for long enough to change my password.
