IAC valve on a 2002 Saturn SL1?
I have a 2002 Saturn SL1. I was having some performance problems and was getting the "service engine soon" light and took it to an auto parts place to get the codes read. The codes pointed to the EGR valve and the IAC valve. I cleaned out the EGR really good and the car was running fine again for a while (had to do this 2-3 more times before I finally just replaced it). I also replaced the IAC valve. After replacing it, I started having problems with high idle speeds. I finally found out that the pintle shaft is supposed to be adjusted to a maximum length before installation. However, I have no idea what length to set it to and the old one is long gone.
Does anyone know what length it should be set to and/or where I can find this info. Its not listed in my Haynes manual for the car.

The directions say not to go over 1 1/8" inches or it may damage the control after installed. The old one was probably dead on 1 1/8".

rather surely take off the air breather tube then there's a cone formed section with a connector on genuine on the returned of the engine rightby the accelerator cable 2 10mm bolts carry it on take off the two bolts and the valve comes off
