Has the Bible changed your life?

I'm a Bible believing Christian. I can't read it. It doesn't make sense at all. I understand Philipians 4:13 and John 3:16. But how does believing in the Bible help one's life after asking Jesus into their heart? I'm lost in life right now and I pray every day, and I make an effort to change my life but I keep getting the same results. I feel at a loss for people, and I pray to God. I keep asking for help but I feel worse and worse. I don't want to live a life being socially inept. I think I will always have an inferiority complex because of my red hair and freckles, which affects my personality and affects me. I guess God screwed up with me. So, has the bible changed your life besides the cliche' bible verse sayings (like they actually matter since they're said all the time). Sorry but I screwed up the last four years of my life, and want to hurt myself. Please answer

Yes, the bible has changed my life.

First, pray whenever you read the bible, that the LORD may reveal unto you wisdom regarding the meaning of His inspired word.

Also, know that all the law and the prophets are based on two great commandments:

36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law? 37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

    Matt 22:36-40 (KJV)

Therefore, when you read the bible, read it with this perspective in mind, and everything should then make sense for you. Love God. Love your neighbor.

When you read the bible, you'll either read a passage that reinforces this, or you'll read where someone has erred regarding this. Either way, there's something to learn about how better to love God and to love our neighbor, and just how much He loves us.

God did NOT screw up on you. He is perfection and so he made you just how you are supposed to be. It doesn't matter if others think you are perfect or not. They are not geven the right of judgement. Only God has that right and He loves you more than anyone ever could. He will never leave or forsake you. God is always there in everything you do. Spend time with Him daily and pray and seek Gods guidance in your life. You'll become closer and closer to Him. You will get to the point when you only care about what He thinks of you and He thinks your pretty special. Why else would spend so much thought into creating you?

I have read the whole bible and all of it is summed up into one word, which God said we should do, and that is to love. First love God, then love one another...there is nothing else that is required of us, and here is love:

1Cor13:4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8 Love never fails.

I'm sorry that you feel that way about the way you look, I happen to like red hair and I really like freckles and well you know, God made you perfect just as you are. Please don't hurt yourself, surely you will hurt others as well as yourself if you do this. And you are most precious you know.

If you are feeling at a loss for people then continue to pray. If you aren't receiving a peace about things then maybe you just haven't given those prayers up totally to Him. In other words you're worrying too much. Enjoy Him and learn to read the Word a verse at a time. What I've done in the past, and thanks for reminding me, is to pray read the word. They will become more significant as you do this. Take John 3:16 for instance. We can do it right now.

For God.....Oh hallelujah For God......For God so loved the world.....Wow, God so loved the world.....that He gave.....Amen, HE gave.......For God so love the world that He gave His only begotten Son......He gave His only begotten Son....that whosoever.....WHOSOEVER.....believeth on Him shall not perish but have everlasting life. Wow, God gave His only begotten Son that whosoever, it doesn't matter who, whosoever believes will....not might or maybe but will have everlasting life.

If you learn to pray read the Word of God then they will start to become reality. And when you pray ask Him to open the Words up to you for the scriptures say that in His Word there is life.

  • Jesus changes lives, not the Bible. The Pharisees had the Bible (OT) and they were a bunch of hypocrites. Invest in a relationship with Jesus Christ and you will see your life begin to change. (He will probably lead you to scripture quite often to show you just how He thinks!). By the way, I think red hair and freckles are very very cute!

I dont believe that any book written by man should change anyone's life. It may have an influence on you but to the point of completely changing a life thats too extreme, and proves that human naiveness

yes when we follow what god tells us to do it changes our life

    read the epistles paul wrote

god tells us how we should live as christians

we start putting those things into practice what god tells us to do.

you do not need to hurt your self

we all fail we all make mistakes

we pick our self up and we dust our self off and we start over again and again and again

if at first you do not succeed try, try, try again.

never give up and never surrender
