Was Isa created like Adam, from the dust or was he born of a virgin?

The true story of Jesus explains the purpose of the virgin birth, Jesus was not creation like Adam and the reason for the virgin birth is explained.

The Quran says both. Adam was created from the dust and had not father nor mother because he was the first man created.

Jesus was born of a virgin and therfore was not created like Adam.

What am I missing? How is Jesus created like Adam ceated from the dust and also born of a virgin? The Quran says Jesus was formed from the dust like Adam and Allah said "be" and Jesus was made. Then the Quran teaches Jesus was born of a virgin. Was Jesus created like Adam or not?

Isa is not the Son of God because,

Isa is created like Adam, created from the dust and spoke into exisitence like Adam.

Then Isa, unlike Adam is also born of a virgin...which is it?

To what point? If the creation of Isa is likened to the creation of Adam, why the virgin birth?

Obviously there is a point to the creation of man..the first man would not have parents.

There is a reason Adam was created from the dust because he was the first man.

How is it your Isa formed from the dust and also born of a woman?

Why is Isa Fatherless, to what point? Why did Allah need a woman to bear Isa when he needed no woman to bear Adam? Obviously Isa is not created like Adam..why not?

Does Allah have any reason to say Isa was born of a virgin or that Isa was created from dust..and which is it anyway was he born of creation or was he created apart from creation? And Dear Muslim friends...WHY?

Update:

You guys are not answering the question. Jesus was born of a virgin or created from dust...how can he be both and why would he be either?

Update 2:

Isn't this a contradiction? Was Isa created from dust or born of a woman?

This leads to the obvious question in either case...Why?

Update 3:

Jasni, you are a good Muslim, ask no questions and simply follow blindly the teachings of a man.

Update 4:

Jasni, you are a good Muslim, ask no questions and simply follow blindly the teachings of a man.

Update 5:

ladaghini, your point that we are all born and also creation is well taken, the Quran does not say Isa is creation through birth but created from the dust.

This is the point to my question,

I am indeed a creation of God but am not created from the dust but creation through birth and decended from Adam's creation.

God did not literally form my flesh from the dust.

The Quran states Isa's creation is like Adam's formed from the dust.

The Quran then claims Isa is born of a virgin birth.

It should logically be one or the other.

Either Isa was physically formed or he was born of God's creation.

It seems nonsensical that Isa is physically created and then inserted into Mary's womb.

Update 6:

Think Tank, The similtude as you call it is explantion of Isa not being the Son of the All Mighty but creation as Adam is created. If we are saying we are all creation through Adam than this does not explain away the virgin birth as it is designed to do.

We are all born of Adam and we are all creation though his creation, we are not all physically formed from dust.

The Quran states Isa was, like Adam literally formed from dust.

Update 7:

UnD, Are you saying you believe each individual is literally formed from the dust and then born from a woman?

UnD Adam was literally formed by God.

We are God's creation through Adam.

God is not individually forming men from dust.

Update 8:

Salman, The Quran states Isa was created as Adam, formed from the dust.

Am I to understand that Isa was not literally formed from the dust as Adam was formed?

Update 9:

Thanks my Muslim friends, let's see if you have enlightened me on this teaching from the Quran.

Allah is saying Isa is created like Adam is created from the dust.

Allah is not saying Isa is literally formed from the dust.

Right?

So if we are ALL sons of Adam and creation through Adam then why is he specifically pointing out the creation of Isa like the creation of Adam.

We are after all, all created from the dust through Adam right?

So what is Allah's point?

Update 10:

Selsibil, I agree, now to what point?

Isa was created diferently from Adam and differently from the rest of us...we agree...now I ask was it just simply because God wanted to give man miracle? We already knew God could create a man withoout parents.

No significance to this miracle other than God simply wanted to demonstrate he could create a man without biology...he had already done this.

Update 11:

If Allah's point was not that Isa is literally created from dust like Adam but through birth ..he has made no point at all.

We are all created through birth and as such created from dust..so there was absolutely no point in the comparison.

Update 12:

ladaghin, If Allah's point is an argument against a teaching that Jesus is the Son of God because he is born of a virgin..then all knowing Allah is making an argument against himself.

Isaiah fortold of the virgin birth and it is a sign from God..If Allah is all knowing and the God who gave us this sign why is it now important to clarify his sign?

Was he unaware at the time of the sign. Was he unaware at the time of the prophesy which was 800 years before the birth of Christ...was this an after thought? 1400 years after the prophesy!!!!! By the way this doesnt mean Jesus is the Son of God..sorry I didn't clear this up 1000 years ago but I've been sort of busy !?!?

Update 13:

hd I like your answer Jesus is indeed the Word of God. The Quran correctly identifies him as the Word of God.

Many Muslims do not know this.

Do you ever wonder why Allah says Jesus is the Word of God and the Gospel, when he would have to know the Gospel says the Word is God?

Update 14:

UnD I also like your honesty, The Bible does give us the reason for the virgin birth.

Update 15:

Butterfly thanks for your answer. It is interesting how Allah is sure that Jesus is the Messiah and born of a virgin and is the Word of God and the good news...

Yet Allah doesn't have an explanation for what it all means.

It's almost as if...Allah never read his own book.

Update 16:

I could imagine that the Quran was written by a man who could not read and had heard of the teachings of the Bible but had never read nor understood the teachings...hmm..wonder why it seems like this?

Update 17:

ladaghin, honestly I am not here to ridicule anyone. I will honestly confess I am not here to learn. I am here to reason and I never deny the truth.

My e-mail is always open and my messenger will be on. God Bless!

Update 18:

Marj † pray4revival † i confess that this question was not asked in order to learn, nor are many of my questions asked with intentions of learning..that doesn't mean I would refuse to learn something if given that opportunity but it was not the first intention of my question.

Update 19:

singlerooky1, May God Bless You my sister. I am not confused and God does lead me by the Holy Spirit.

The delegation of Najran said to the Rasulullah (s.a.w.): 'Why do you insult Jesus?' He said: 'What did I say about him?' They said: 'You say that he is a servant'. He said: 'Indeed, he is the servant and messenger of Allah, as well as His word which He cast into the Virgin Mary'. They became angry and said: 'Have you ever seen a human being who was born without a father? If you are truthful, show us such a person'. And so Allah, exalted is He, revealed this verse:

    إِنَّ مَثَلَ عِيسَى عِندَ اللَّهِ كَمَثَلِ ءَادَمَ خَلَقَهُ مِن تُرَابٍ ثُمَّ قَالَ لَهُ كُن فَيَكُونُ

"Verily, the likeness of 'Isa before Allah is the likeness of Adam. He created him from dust, then (He) said to him: "Be!" - and he was."

    (Quran 3:59)

    >> Adam (a.s.) was created from dust without biological father and mother. But Isa (a.s.) is fatherless (with biological mother) and no process of him being created with dust recorded in Quran. Both of them were born without normal process, that is one of the similarity between them. Is there any other similarity between him and Adam (a.s.)?

It is the word, 'Be!' ...

It is not [befitting] for Allah to take a son; exalted is He! When He decrees an affair, He only says to it, "Be," and it is.

    (Quran 19:35)

    >> Why the virgin birth?

He said, "Thus [it will be]; your Lord says, 'It is easy for Me, and We will make him a sign to the people and a mercy from Us. And it is a matter [already] decreed.' "

    (Quran 19:21)

Why Allah chose to demonstrate his creative ability by causing Jesus to be conceived by a virgin?

In Islam, we believe that Allah sent his Messengers and His revelations to guide the whole humanity to the one true path. Each of the Messengers were given mu’jizat to prove that they were sent by the true Creator of this world. The mu’jizat given to them is the miracles to weaken the faith rejectors’ arguments. Some of the mu’jizat given to the Prophets were Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) a.s. was untouched by the fire, Prophet Musa (Moses) a.s. with his stick, Prophet Muhammad s.a.w. split the moon etc.

And Prophet Isa (Jesus) pbuh … miraculous virgin birth.

Why? Easy .. to show Allah’s miracle so that it could be witnessed by thousands of people at that time. By conceiving a baby without a husband will surely bring many slanders to Maryam (Mary). Quran has recorded that event:

"At length she brought the (baby) to her people, carrying him (in her arms). They said: "O Maryam! truly an amazing thing hast thou brought! "O sister of Aaron! Thy father was not a man of evil, nor thy mother a woman unchaste!" But she pointed to the babe. They said: "How can we talk to one who is a child in the cradle?"

    (Quran 19:27-29)

So, here come the second miracles (which isn’t recorded in the Bible) … Isa pbuh refute their slanders eventhough he was a baby at that time! He said:

"He said: "I am indeed a servant of God: He hath given me revelation and made me a prophet. "And He hath made me blessed wheresoever I be, and hath enjoined on me Prayer and Charity as long as I live. "(He) hath made me kind to my mother, and not overbearing or miserable. "So peace is on me the day I was born, the day that I die, and the day that I shall be raised up to life (again)"!"

    (Quran 19:30-33)

    >> Why would Jesus need to be born of the Virgin Mary if he was not God? If we take that as a valid criteria for us to take Jesus as a God … what about King Melchizedek? He has no father, no mother, without genealogy etc. So the argument about Adam VS Jesus is invalid because we have King Melchizedek who surpassed both of them in the miraculous ‘appearance’ on Earth:

"This Melchizedek was king of Salem and priest of God Most High. He met Abraham returning from the defeat of the kings and blessed him, and Abraham gave him a tenth of everything. First, his name means "king of righteousness"; then also, "king of Salem" means "king of peace." Without father or mother, without genealogy, without beginning of days or end of life, like the Son of God he remains a priest forever."

    (Hebrews 7:1-3)

We believe that Prophet Isa, God bless him and grant him peace, -was an extraordinary person, one of God's prophets and messengers -was born of a virgin -was a prophet of God -like Prophets Abraham, David, Moses, and Muhammad, received a codified book of revelation -was able, by God's will, to perform miracles -did not die, but was raised to heaven alive -will return to earth to fight the anti-Christ -will rule the earth for a time -will marry during this time -will die, along with all of the good people, before the terrible Last Days dawn -will be resurrected, along with all human beings, to be judged on the Day of Judgment

singleroo djmantix is not confused, he is an evangelist and he is askingthe muslims who bleeive that Jesus was made from dust like adam and that he was also made from the dust like adam

why was there need for either forms of creation

and which one was it dust or a virgin birth as it could not have been both

there would be no need to create him from dust as Adam had to be made that way since adam was the first man

and if he is not the Son of God then why bother wit ha virgin birth, there were plenty of men around e.g. Joseph who could have made love to mary and brought about Jesus the nromal lway if he wass a normal man, clearly he was not

the problem is the muslims are playingthe arabic version of Simon says

when analyising what muhammed says clearly it is not consistent and makes no sense

muslims are not bothered bny the lack of logic and contradictions in muhammeds statments

they answer contradictions with denial and stamtements like allah knows best

there is never nay need for them to explain the inconsistiencies or violent verses or contradictions in their religeon, trhey simply close their minds and say allah knows best

they claim allah made the world isn 6 days there was no seventh day as a llah has no need to rest

then they claim later on in the quran that theworld was made in 8 days

The problem is how do they substantiate these claims when every muslim country pracitces a 7 day week

why does allah have a 7 day week, if you claim the 6th day is your holy day and then later on he made it in 8 days?

seems to me like any excuse to avoid the number 7 a symbol rest given unto man by God

something the devil does not want the muslims to enter into

compare it to what Jesus said

    Matthew 11:28

Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest

a 6 day for the muslims is ok, an 8th day, sure why not, but a seventh, and the evil spirit avatars which proppgate the islamic religeon inside of them howl and scream that their minds grow closer to the truth

yet the whole arabic world practices a 7th day week

    why 7 days?

if they agree he was creating adam o nthe 6th, then what was he doing on the 7th?

and if there is no 7th day , then why do they all have a 7 day week??????

It seems to me you're reading other books about Jesus and His creation and you're getting confused. God is not a God of confusion. If you just read the TRUTH, which is God's word, the Holy Bible, then you would not be confused and ask all these questions. You have questions, read God's word..ya don't understand then ask the Lord for wisdom even before you begin to read His word. If you feel the Lord hasn't answered in the time you need then ask someone that knows that I'm sure the Lord will use to tell you what you need to know. May the Lord bless you with wisdom and understanding to help you to KNOW His word. Amen.......AND BTW, in Isaiah7:14 saids as follows: "Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: "Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel." It didn't say Isa as you and others have been saying. The only One that has been born of a virgin is Jesus Christ.

    Creation Of Adam In Quran

  • 1 decade ago

Salam. In line with the Qur'an,Isa a.s was not created like Adam a.s from the soil or dust..Isa a.s was born by a virgin mother called Maryam through Jibril angel's blowing soul into her womb .She was still virgin (untouched by a man) when she pregnanted Isa a.s.The Qur'an did not state that Isa's creation is like Adam's formed from the dust because for Allah it is easy. just only says "occurred".It will happen according to Allah's willingness.

In The Name of Allah Most Compassionate, Ever Merciful

The Qur'an say, "O People of the Book! Commit no excesses in your religion: Nor say of Allah aught but the truth. Christ Jesus the son of Mary was (no more than) an apostle of Allah, and His Word, which He bestowed on Mary, and a spirit proceeding from Him: so believe in Allah and His apostles. Say not "Trinity" : desist: it will be better for you: for Allah is one Allah. Glory be to Him: (far exalted is He) above having a son. To Him belong all things in the heavens and on earth. And enough is Allah as a Disposer of affairs." (Al-Nisa, 4:171).

I totally agree with soul keeper, Furthermore, the Quran also relates Jesus to Adam, the first Prophet in Islam: “Truly, the likeness of Jesus with God is as the likeness of Adam. He created him out of dust, and then said to him, ‘Be!’ and he was.” (Quran, 3:59)

“So it will be. Your Lord said that is easy for Him and it is a matter already decreed by Him (Quran 19:16-21),” the angel said.

Here it is not saying that Allah made Jesus(AS) is made out of dust! it is talking about likeness how Prophet Adam(AS) born out of nothing when Allah says Be! and he was.! just like that when he decreed that a Virgin that is Maryam(AS) has to give birth to Jesus(AS) without any man involving with her!, he said Be! and he was.

And Allah may guide you to turth - Aameen, La Ilaha Illallah, Muhammadur Rasoollullah.

Similitude does not mean exact same. Quran is pointing out an aspect of creation to prove that "God can create without father or without father and mother"

Again, when we present an example or similitude, it is similarity of a certain aspect, not exactly same. However, those who look for fault in God's word will definitely find fault and that will be fault of themselves.
