Probably.
PS Sotomayor was quoted as saying that different races have different physiological characteristics that would make them decide cases differently. If that's not racism, what on Earth would be???!!!

Gee, I hope so...lol. Just kidding.
Justice Sonia Sotomayor had more experience on the Federal bench that any (ANY) of the current Supreme Court Justices, including Chief Justice Roberts! Presidents George HW Bush and Bill Clinton had BOTH appointed Justice Sotomayor previously, and she had been confirmed by unanimous votes that included most of the Republicans in the Senate. Does this alter your perspective on assuming that Justice Sotomayor is a "sexist racist person"?
In fairness, the balance of the court right now is four Conservative Justices with one that is a swing vote (Moderate-to-Conservative) and four Moderate-to-Liberal leaning Justices. The retiring Justice Stephens is a Liberal, and President Obama has every Constitutional and legal right to choose a match in order to preserve the balance of the Court. The "short-list" that's out has some outstanding candidates, and former Special Prosecutor Jonathan Turley spoke of a preference for Judge Diane Wood, who is highly intelligent and well-respected by attorneys on both sides of the political spectrum, but did say there are some highly qualified people rumored to be on President Obama's list. He'll choose someone who does right by the American people and UPHOLDS the Constitution instead of making "new law" as did the five "Conservative" Justices who allowed corporations to be considered "persons" and opened our elections to foreign-owned corporate influences (a mistake).

Last I heard he already has picked some people & the party of No is not going to block it cause they are losing all the time from doing this. So if you want to complain about Obama you are wasting your energy. It is the republicans who are letting this happen. They don't know how to stop anything.

He hasn't in the past. There is no reason for him to start now. There is more than enough highly qualified peopple to serve on the Supreme Court for life.

I think there is enough conservative representation on the court now. He should try to put it back in balance.
