What is the time taken to burn the rope?

I have 1 rope which burns for 1 hour(It doesnt burn uniformly.Half the rope may get burnt in 10 mins remaining in 50 mins or something like that)I need to measure 15 mins.

Is it right to say"Burn 1 rope at 4 places,it burns for 15 mins"?

    gnaw!

    according to what you say:

cut the rope in four pieces. two of them will get burned in 25 minutes. the other two should get burned in 5 minutes. Therefore,

burn 1 5-min piece of rope and 1 25-min piece of rope at the same time. As soon as the 5-min rope is completely burned, start burning the another piece of 5-min rope. As soon as the another 5-min rope is burned start taking the time at that moment. When the 25-min is consumed 15 minutes have passed.

    Hi Sniper

You need two such ropes to measure 15 minutes

I burn the first rope at both ends and the 2nd rope at 1 end

The first rope will burn itself out in exactly 30 minutes.

At this point of time I light the 2nd rope which has a burning time of 30 minutes left at the other end too.

Then this rope will burn for exactly 15 minutes
