This has been puzzling me for a while. When i get a fantastic idea (solving a puzzle for instance) i often feel that i got lucky and the idea has been dropped on to me and i am worried that there is no guarentee i would get a similar idea on an another situation. so is thinking a conscious process? put it other way when you get an idea is it consciousness creating the idea hence you controlling/creating what idea you get or consciousness only perceives the idea after it is being created hence you have control over what idea you get?

this question is for all the theists. When you say god created everything what is the purpose of he creating and maintaining everything?i want to know his motive.

i was wondering why people trust something they dont know completely?may it be one of the qualities developed in the process of evolution from primate to human?quality to hold on to something believing they can overcome any encumbrance to survive instead of being frustrated and give it all up?

how many of you atheists believe in soul or free will? If you do then how do you justify your belief since both are supernatural?

@ all who claim free will isn't supernatural. Any thing which doesn't follow the laws of physics IS supernatural. free will relies on choices and ability to take decisions rationally based on that but laws of physics provide no choices.

i dunno much about evolution. But i guess it doesn't involve conscious process (or does it?) i smell some sorta intelligence when organisms evolve to survive. Where this intelligence come from?

i think they are incompatible. the laws of nature shows there is only one possible outcome for any situation,in other words there are no 'choices'. so logically, mathematically or any other 'ally' free will is not possible. i wanna know how compatibilists view this?
