Is Thinking a conscious process?

I posted this short time ago but not many replies

This has been puzzling me for a while. When i get a fantastic idea (solving a puzzle for instance) i often feel that i got lucky and the idea has been dropped on to me and i am worried that there is no guarentee i would get a similar idea on an another situation. so is thinking a conscious process? put it other way when you get an idea is it consciousness creating the idea hence you controlling/creating what idea you get or consciousness only perceives the idea after it is being created hence you have control over what idea you get?

    yes it is a conscious process which runs with loads of data in our mind including the data in ur subconscious mind
