The Vatican blame game: who's next?

Update:

@phenotype: Ah, I forgot that one. Good work!

Update 2:

@Dear Dogma: I make a major distinction between Catholics, who are just regular folks, and the Vatican. If you check these links, they are about deflecting blame from the Vatican for its systematic cover-ups.

They are still obstructing investigations, refusing to cooperate with legal authorities in many countries, and have been using diplomatic immunity to protect individuals. e.g. the former Papal Nuncio to Dublin, as well as the Pope himself.

Update 3:

Oh, and I left out "secularism" and "moral ralativism", from the Papal letter to "apologise" to Irish abuse victims.

Update 4:

@Dear Dogma: Yep, with ya on that!

Update 5:

@MM: would you feel the same about head teachers or administrators who refused to turn in staff they knew to be abusing kids?

The abused children themselves, according to the Bishop of Tenerife.

    http://www.typicallyspanish.com/news/publish/artic...

from the article: "He said that on occasions the abuse happened because there are children who consent to it.

‘There are 13 year old adolescents who are under age and who are perfectly in agreement with, and what’s more wanting it, and if you are careless they will even provoke you’, he said."

Most Catholics be they laity or religious are just like most everyone else be they theists, atheists or agnostics. Most people in general understand the objective injustice of child abuse and obstruction of justice. Some people (very few and certainly not exclusively or all Catholic priests) still commit this crime and deserve to be tried and condemned and legitimate victims compensated (and consoled) by the justice system and the church.

The "blame game" as you call it, is the court of public opinion....driven by a media thirsting for scandal

(not much good copy coming from the old bitties in the CWL serving lunch at the funeral, or the gritty face of compassion the priest that anointed the deceased with oil showed the grieving family bedside in the hospital a few days earlier)

I watched a "documentary" recently entitled "Sex scandals at the Vatican" If balanced reporting includes the impartial host weeping, then I guess it was fair. I wept. The stories were indeed sad, but biasly presented as the norm and commonplace.

I'm all about justice being served, including any coercion or obstruction from those above, but this is honestly beginning to look like a witch hunt, something often used to condemn the behavior of Catholics in the middle ages.

There is no one to blame for the "Sex scandals at the Vatican" other than those guilty of the crimes.

    Peace; DD

    EDIT; (((Jabberwocki)))

Like I said....."I'm all about justice being served"

Mainly sodomy plagued homosexuals and a world grossly entombed in dark immorality promiscuity and sexual deviance. These tormented and demonised souls use the term 'gay rights' when in fact they forfeit any rights the moment they indulge in such sinful ways and in doing so turn away from God by their serious breaking of His laws. The term should actually be gay WRONGS ! Homosexuality is WRONG. The teachings in Romans Ch:1 Verses 26, 27 Holy Bible are clear and for those ignorant of this or blindly chosing to be I post a reminder.

    Romans 1 v: 26 27 Holy Bible:

For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error.

The evils mentioned here have come to The Catholic Church the largest in this world by way of Satan who constantly seeks to infect God's work. Not the other way around. God and sin cannot abide alongside each other. This will eventually be resolved and these evil demons cast out. No works of Satan can ever overstand the power of The Holy Spirit.

    Jesus said :

You are Peter which means rock. Upon this rock I will build my church and the gates of hell shall NOT prevail against it. Amen.

I believe that traditionally it has been the jews first, the gays second, then the Heretics, and finally the Witches. After the Witches come the Indians, the Blacks, the Women, and finally "All Others".

I blame the media, a small minority of the priests (but not those who refused to turn them in--sinners are responsible for their own sins, and true Christians seek to help sinners rather than retaliate) and Catholics like myself who failed to sufficiently pray for priests who struggle with lust.

All the events are very unfortunate, and particularly unfortunate for the victims. My brother was sexually abused by a teacher in a Catholic school and he is now a homosexual. The Vatican and the Church MUST choose : God OR their corrupted institutions.

I'm sure that the Republicans in congress will get around to blaming Obama before too long.

As an atheist, I'm offended we haven't been blamed heavily yet.
