I'm in a union, can I sue my former employer for wrongful termination?

while employed, was supposed to be on light duty. boss upped work load to which it was impossible to fulfill. was let go due to not being able to keep up with workload. this company that fired me is causing all kinds of trouble for me and I am finding it hard to get other work. I was given unemployment compensation because the company was found to be wrong in firing me. can I sue?

It really depends on the wording of your union contract. Had you not been in a union, the answer would have been no. If the contract states that the employer must provide light duty work while under a doctor's care (which I am assuming you were at that time) then yes you could. If not, then you really have no case. The person to speak with about it would be your union leader. Good luck.
