Egypt: When cooking Foul medamis? is it better to leave the bean into water before cooking it?

Or it would taste better if you just cook it (I know it will take more tadmis time) I am talking here about the taste?

    soaking Foul is very important . it is not only about less time cooking. all the legumes should be soak to get rid of the gases inside it and when we eat it it doesn't affect our colon

    if you are going to put 3ads you should cock it first

  • Yes, it's better to leave it overnight. The water won't affect the taste at all. You'll "te7abesho kewayes" anyway with lemon and oil and cummin or any other spices to your taste. But the water will definitely decrease tadmiss time. Without water, it'll take forever.

    it is better to soak the beans for hours before cooking it

    the longer you soak it , the less time it takes for cooking .

    the taste is better , too

    add some lentiles , 3ads asfr , some tomatoes , some carrots , some baking powder when it is covered and heated to be cooked

    these additions make it better in color and texture

    It doesnt affect the taste, but what does is what you add into it. you should add garlic, a very small tomato, 3ads asfar and a small unlpeeled and un-cut lemon (all while still cooking)

    and then add the good stuff when its ready to be served ;)

    dont add any other additives specially el lamoun or any veg. unless its done >>> other wise it will take more time the acidic mediem makes it go slow

    u wsh ur foul then soak them at night in wter with very little baking soda , it makes it yestewi besor3a . next day u rinse it then put hot water in ur kedra ,put ur beans and some people add 3ads asfar and tomatoes.

    NO CHANGE IN TASTE it will make it softer zi elzebda

    it dosen't matter, garlic and other herbs you put with the foul is what makes the most taste
