do you think my due date is wrong?

on monday i was 36 weeks 3 days and when my doctor measured my baby on the sonogram he measured at 39 weeks his head legs torso everything the doctor was very surprised by this and told me my due date could be off my baby also weighed right at 8 lbs he sent me to the hospital because i was having contraction but i only  dilated 3cm so they sent me home on bed rest and labor watch Im really scared my baby will be too big to push out at this point they want to induce me monday do you think everything will be ok thank you

ps i know i just posted a question about walking to brake my water I really want this little guy to come out before hes to big to push out im just really scared about everything thanks for your help.

The due date would have to be off by more than 21 days.  If you had a scan earlier in the pregnancy then that scan is more accurate.  At 36 weeks the scan can be off by 3 weeks in either direction due to  error.  So if you had a scan earlier then the due date is correct and you have a large baby.  Walking will not break your bag of water and induction because of fetal size has never been scientifically proven to decrease the rates of cesarean section

My son was 8lb 7 oz and he was my first baby. I managed to push him out completely naturally. It's not that big but I think they must have got your due dates wrong.
You have nothing to worry about, I am sure everything will be absolutely fine.
