PLEASE! Hurry and help me with my Polaroid TV!?

Please help me! I turned on my 40" Widescreen HD LCD Polaroid Television and the screen stays black. The screen isn't out because if I press guide, info, or anything like that it still comes up on the screen.

But, I can still hear the sound. We have NewWave cable and this is the only television in the house messed up. I think it might have something to do with the fact that it is the only one with a DVR.

If I try to change the channel it shows that it is on the channel I turned it to, but the show I hear is on the channel the television was on when it stopped working.

Please help me I have to get it fixed before my Dad gets home from work

I have a Polaroid 40". You do not say how everything is connected. Are you changing channels on the TV itself or with a cable box (the DVR?).

Do you have anything else you can try on the TV to make sure that it works with a video signal, like DVD or BluRay player, laptop computer (VGA or HDMI), different cable box, etc.

I have a friend with Time Warner cable that has gone through several HD cable boxes. Sound started going out on various channels for one with HDMI, another (with DVI, but connected with component) kept spontaneously rebooting. So I would try another source of video first before assuming a TV problem.

turn off the tv and unconnected all cables including ac wall, wait 5-10 minutes and try again. if still does not work, tell your dad to buy a new one.
