If God is all-powerful, then can't he cause himself to cease to exist?
If he can't then he's obviously not all-powerful.
So, if he did cause himself to cease to exist, could he, while non-existing, cause himself to come back into existence? Seems that the answer would have to be yes. Which begs the question:
If God can pop himself in and out of existence like a strobe light, then what's the problem with a godless universe popping itself into existence with the big bang?

Yep, but the question is does god exist? That's the catcher, my friend.
Of course there is going to be a lot of scripture quoting, people talking out of their ***...
but will they have answered your question? No.

I am an agnostic, but I can answer this argument for you Say you ask god to create a circle with corners. It's not possible in our perception of what a circle is. Seeing as a circle is only a circle if it has no corners (among other things) God cannot create a circle simply as it is not a circle if it has corners. But, theoretically, god could change how we perceive the circle, so that we see it as a circle, even though we cannot see it as a circle at this moment. This is a similar concept- The idea of an all powerful god means that while there are somethings that god cannot do. For example, while an all powerful god might be able to do anything that goes against the laws of physics, an all powerful god could not break logic as we currently perceive it, as logic is not a physical entity but something humans perceive. However, an all powerful god could change our perception of said logic so that somehow he has broken it logically. Logically an all powerful god cannot cease to exist, because if he could and is able to bring himself back into existence, he was never truly out of existence. (perhaps he can leave existence entirely but does not wish to as well) However, an all powerful god can make us perceive him as nonexistent, but cannot break the laws of logic as we percieve it.

1) If God is all-powerful, then can't he cause himself to cease to exist?
Not necessarily.
I'm not saying that God cannot do this. What I'm saying is: the definition of "all powerful" does not necessarily include the ability to cause oneself to cease to exist. "All powerful" means "has power over everything else that exists" - not "can do anything". For example, God cannot create a God that is more powerful than himself - that act defies his very nature *and* exceeds the term "all powerful". Similarly, since it is God's nature to exist forever, it may be that he does not have the power to alter his own nature and cease to exist. In other words, it may mean that he does not have power greater than himself that allows him to change his own nature in that way.

The universe can't exist on its own. If He did that, then the universe would cease to exist.
Colossians 1:17 "He is before all things, and in him all things hold together."

he must be because he already has.
now, if he could make himself exist in the first place that would be impressive.

your dropping knowledge bombs so fast it's hurting me. God, is everything, Big Bang is everything. Two points of view. its like even and odd numbers God= 2,4,6,8 .... Big Bang = 1,3,5,7,.....

No, He can't.
How does negating yourself make you all-powerful?
